Cat fights. Anything I can do?

So, last week my cat ended up at the vets after having been bitten on his paw.

This weekend we were back again after another cat has taken a couple of bites (and a load of fur) from his neck.

He's quiet, but ok and I'm keeping him in for a couple of days, vets orders.

I have no idea what cat he's been fighting and this is a new thing as he's been going out with no trouble, for 2 years.

He loves going out. Is there anything I can do apart from keeping him in, which I really don't want to do.

It sounds like a new cat has moved into the area & it's causing fights.

Are the wounds on his back area or front?.

Yes, apparently front wounds are when the cats been fighting back or started it, back are the cat running away and being attacked.

So either your cats standing his ground or is actively attacking.

Either way cats are going to fight so you may as well let him get on with it.

Our cats an alpha pyscho & still falling out with next doors cat after 3 years.

I just bathe things in saltwater now & see how it heals.

His last fight wound was £90. You'd think they'd make the connection between fighting and things hurting wouldn't you?.

Cat proof the garden?
We saw fights. Bought a super soaker! Bastard big cat was attacking ours. (And me when I tried to intervene! )

I can't cat proof the garden as my neighbour has right-of-way to his garage though it.

I'll try to keep an eye out for a new cat, but although we're not near a main road, we're in a very built up area house-wise. And most of us have cats.
