Wet food & loose poo

Sorry for the TMI thread title and content!

Have recently moved my beloved Boycat onto a mixed wet/dry diet - mainly because I thought he must be dreadfully bored of the same flavour dry food all day (he had bad bladder issues just over a year ago and has been on specialist urinary dry food ever since - which only comes in chicken!)

I'm not sure if it's agreeing with him, to be honest. He's started bringing in dead mice (developed the taste for meat?!) and wailing at me from about 6am - i could live with these as that's sort of part and parcel of cat ownership. BUT - I have also noticed his poos have got quite loose and today for the first time since he moved in (and did a protest poo on the front door mat) he took a big poo in the middle of the room. It was rancid - really wet and not healthy looking at all!

He was wormed end of Jan (6 month tablet which he definitely ate) and is flea'ed every month as he goes out. I've got him on Butchers Classic as it's obviously gluten free and with his history, not sure I want him on foods with cereal.

I just wonder whether to put him back on the dry only - he seems to enjoy it as I still feed him this every morning and he demolishes it. Or do you think it's something other than diet?

I'm totally brassic for a few days (am waiting on a £600+ insurance claim to pay out for a different issue) so unless you think he sounds horribly ill, I'd like to avoid the vets. He's happy in himself and his routine hasn't changed... help!!

So after a week back on his regular diet and things settling down for him, I've bitten the bullet and am trying him on the Natures Menu.

He is thoroughly enjoying himself and demolished it - don't think I'll have any nose being turned up. I just hope his innards are as happy Smile

I've started off with just a half pouch with some of his dry so as not to overload his system so will keep an eye on him over the next few days and see how we get on.

Fingers (and other appendages) crossed!

I took some natures menu to the stables for a poorly cat. She bit me because I wasn't getting out the pouch fast enough - she was actually inhaling it as I squeezed it out Hmm
Mine is on raw, I feed turkey, beef and chicken, either chunks or mince with a supplement called Felini complete

Oh that's great! One of mine took to it right away, but then she eats anything not nailed down. The other took just a few days. Hope for good results!

Fingers crossed it all works out Smile

It all seems to be going well - healthy guts and clearly throughly enjoying his food... maybe a little too much which is where if welcome your guidance!

I've been feeding him half the amount of dry food recommended for his size and then one pouch spread across his two daily meals. Is this enough?

He's just under 5kg and doesn't appear to have lost weight but my god - he pesters me non-stop for about an hour before his meals.. both morning and night! So I'm being awakened at stupid o'clock by this wailing monster and then he just shouts and gets under my feet the whole time I'm trying to prep dinner Angry

I adore him but he's getting totally on my tits. The evening is annoying but the morning is getting unbearable. I have tried training him (hollow laugh) as I always spring out of bed when my alarm goes so he knows he won't get fed until then. . But he will not let up!

He was always satisfied on a purely dry diet (well, waited for me to get up) and I fell he has enough as he'll normally halt halfway through, trundle outside and have a wash and then saunter back to finish it off.. so he's not wolfing it down like he's starving!

Is he pushing his luck or am I starving him? Help!!
