How does my cat know when I open a tin of tuna ( no drain, ring pull variety)?
She was fast asleep upstairs in dds room, but appeared before I had scraped it out of the tin.

And just recently we have had some doors installed between the conservatory and kitchen to keep the house warmer. She can get in and out via the dining room doors. So why does she sit by the kitchen door, walk round and come in and stand behind me? Sometimes she does this several times. Or is it just asserting her royal powers?

We have two Bengal boys and a Burmese. When I put food into the two feeding bowls all three cats crowd around the bowls which are next to each other. Bengal boy 1 will then extend one slender leg and drag one bowl away from the other two cats and eat the entire contents of that bowl. Bengal boy2 and the Burmese stare in bewilderment at the empty space on the floor and then guzzle the contents of the other bowl, looking pissed off that they are forced to share by some bizarre act of God. This happens three times a day, every day.

Bengal boy1; clever. Other two; thick as mince.

Loving these stories. They remind me how much we miss having cats around. Shortly to be rectified.

My tortie is extremely dim. I have a fake fur cushion and she washes it like it's another cat.

I love these stories - cats grooming cushions and beeping from the sofa.

Does anyone remember the book "My cat likes to hide in boxes?" I've seen a MNer with a name from the book. I loved it when I was little.

Mines a mixture. He knows the sound of the car and will come running to the door to greet me/demand food when I get in from work.
He's quickly learned if he wants food or out he just goes to the door/his bowl and just looks at me. No need to meow.
Not yet mastered the door though. When I open it to let him out, he tries to go under it. He also dosnt seem to realise that in order for me to open the door, he has to move out of the way first.

Our cat is quite clever. She understands at least 10 words. She knows how to ask for what she wants and leads me to whatever it is.

I've just watched a funny cat video with lots of cats freaking out at cucumbers. I tried the same with our cat and she just looked at it, looked at me (as if to say 'you weirdo'), then stepped over it. She's too cool.
