Grain/Filler free food for 6 month old

6 month old Charlie Cat is a food fiend, he would stuff himself silly all day if I let him, constantly begs for food. When he first arrived we just had some pouches to tide us over until I ordered some better quality food. Pets at home own brand pouches did ok, felix he was yowling for food constantly. Not fun at 4am. Now on applaws kitten tins and complete dry food which does better, he survives until around 6 before the noise starts. But I'm struggling to get my head around applaws and their complementary vs complete foods. He prefers wet to dry but does eat the dry, but then I feel like I'm spending a fortune feeding him as he needs plenty of dry to get the nutrients so end up having no idea if I'm giving him too much or not enough and letting him lead the way won't help as he has sometimes conned us into giving him 2 breakfasts and still tried demand more. He's a very active cat, I think he is a Bengal cross, looks like a Bengal with added tabby stripes, acts like a Bengal.

What are the good ones? Pref a wet, complete food. When I look online everything seems to claim to be natural and good and blah blah blah so I'd love a good recommendation. I don't really have the freezer space to feed raw conveniently.

Applaws pate is complete, the other ones are complimentary if that helps?
Thrive is meant to be good
I feed a mix of applaws pate plus whatever is on offer at the supermarket (yesterday was turkey thigh mince 99p for 500g!)

Anyone know what Feringa is like?

I've looked at the applaws pate, how much difference is there between the kitten and adult foods though?

Not sure on that, I have only used the adult food (he adores it!)

My kitten certainly loves the wet applaws food! But then he eats anything going. I'ts like having a dog, anything the dc drop at mealtimes he cleans up. Often resulting in a tantrum because the cat ate their dinner I'm hoping it will teach them to be more careful!

Am now confused about Feringa because this says he would need around half a can a day which sounds great to me but this says he would need nearly 2 cans Shock.

Hmmm that does seem a bit odd. It's a minefield
I wanted to do full raw but cat won't eat liver Hmm at all. So sticking with some applaws plus various bits of meat chucked in

Maybe I should stop caring and fling a tin of whiskers at him like my cats when I was a child.

You can order raw complete meals from Nature's Menu - the organs are all ground up in with the other meats so he might not notice and they add all the right vitamins etc. The cat of mine who'll eat it does great on it. Alternatively, yes, Thrive is very good, but also very expensive.

Butchers classic is cereal and soya free. With high protein content.

My huge 7 month old beastie seems to do well on Wainwrights pouches and James Wellbeloved biscuits.
