We are going to pick up this gorgeous boy on Monday, fingers crossed! He's 7 years old and is called 'Boots' although he doesn't have any boots! Is it too late to change it you reckon?

We changed our two year old's name when we adopted her...she took to it really quickly.

What a lovely boy.

I don't think it matters too much if you change his name - as long as you can say his new name with overtones of adoration and food!

(Although Boots for him is growing on me.)

Ooh a fluffy cat. I changed our cats name, it's his third one.

My son age 5 wants to call him Mr poo poo head, oh wants thunder cat and I quite liked snarf?

I think I'd stick with Boots!

(You can always say that he'll tell you his real name when he's been with you a bit.)

We took in an elderly stray & just gave him a name, Codger - within a couple of days he was answering to it

Bosco suits him. It's a rugged sort of name with a soft centre. Who chose it?

My son wanted Rosco but mils dog is Rossi so we compromised with Bosco. Settling in nicely x

I take it back, Bosco is purrfect

He's settled right in, he's had his dinner but hasn't been to the loo yet. I've shown him the box but he just leaps out. Hope we don't wake up to a poo fest!

What a Houdini this boy is! He has been missing for over 24 hours now, he is in the house somewhere but has gone to ground. In hoping he'll come out of his own accord.

a plastic container with a few biscuits rattled might bring him out

Seniorboy lasted close on a month in hiding before he decided to grace us with his presence! (Now he pretty well rules the roost.) I can see that a black cat might present even more difficulty though - in actually spotting where he's sequestered.
