Well, at the grand old age of 33 I've finally bought a house, with a garden! So last Sunday we went to the Cat Protection Society and reserved this beautiful girl! Her name is Pippa and she was found as a stray with her six kittens. She raised them at the shelter and they have all now been removed. Pippa has been neutered and is ready for a new home. She was very affectionate with us, but the staff said she can be quite nervous until she gets to know you. We will be getting her next week and I hope she will be happy with us Grin

I suppose we are into fireworks season now, there is bonfire night, Diwali, then random fireworks for no reason, then Christmas & New Year. So if she is timid maybe try to keep her in until after new year, at least after dark - and you could go out for a wander with her in daylight, just to get her used to the outside space? That's what we did with 3rd Cat who was desperate to go out & was neutered around this time of year - although he is mostly white so we didn't have the extra worry about not being seen after dark

She's lovely. I don't think you're being overly cautious - you have to judge these things by the cat. Mine only really go in the backyard (one would fight any cat she meets and the other isn't good at cat things. In my old house we once found her crying in a bush out the front because she couldn't figure out that the house was behind her). She looks like a little sweetie.

isn't good at cat things Grin
I think that neatly describes Mad Kitten, who can fetch/retrieve like a dog, but has yet to puzzle out the use of a cat flap, or remember not to retract claws when halfway up a tree.

Ninja...... She's beautiful Smile

I suppose I'll just wait and use my own judgement as to when she's ready. As I said she is still very timid at the moment. She will come in for her food and snake round your feet when you're putting it out, then be eating not happily but if anyone shuts a cupboard door ect then she will zoom away off behind the sofa!
