Just realised my cat is my PFB!
I have no children and haven't had a pet solely of my own before.
I can see some of you are very protective of your pusses too so tell me your best story!

Sorry for taking over forum btw, this is my first week as a mother!

I worried that my precious first kitten wasn't drinking enough water so pippetted lactol cat formula in to her mouth hourly - even over night. Cat food for kittens wasn't good enough - she had shredded chicken breast and now she turns her nose up at anything less

We had roast chicken for months on a Sunday so she could have some after we had a diagnosis of terminal cancer. I think she lived longer to get chicken.

I'm sure there are more that are sillier...

flumplet the not drinking can lead you into all sorts.

BBK now jumps into the shower and looks expectantly at us. We obediently turn the shower on so he can have a drink. This has become entirely normal practice in our family in just two months Grin

Haha, reminds me of the vet telling my mum to give our cat some liver when she was ill as it was so dense with nutrients but only to give her a little bit. She didn't know what to do with the leftovers in the pack so gave to dad for his dinner. And, of course, he thought nothing of the fact that he was essentially eating the cat's leftovers.

Oh God that postage kitten is adorable. Looks just like my friend's (huge, muscular and very soppy) boy when he was a kitten.

:) @ the dead leg. Glad i'm not alone in my cat parent antics :)

Have had various rescue cats for last seven years & have learnt that they are tougher than they make out a lot of the time.

Used to think a lot of the mumsnet expression PFB when i finally achieved my lifes ambition and had my first own cat.

That poor boy got schlepped to the vet every five minutes, bet the staff there were laughing their heads off 'here she comes again, what is it this time, slightly off note fart?' :)

Current rescue benefits from my reduced cat medical anxiety but is otherwise entirely free to rule me with an 'iron' paw.

'more tesco sandwich chicken snipped up carefully with scissors & mixed with prawns? Yes sir, right away sir' 'play mousey at 4 am, why of course, i am a mere human & therefore can work a full day on a mere 3 hours sleep' :)

Could write a book of the daft things i have done & continue to do for his pleasure & comfort.

Which is how it should be imo, current fur son had a terrible time being neglected for three years so its just so great to see him revelling in being utterly loved & being able to communicate & get his needs (& whims) met :)

This is exactly how I feel about my shelter girl. When I got her I promised her that she'd get well and never go hungry or cold or have to fight for her life again. Sometimes at night when I'm petting her plush gorgeous coat and she's gazing at me and purring light a tractor I tell her so again.

We got our big, stupid tabby from a cat rescue in Paris. He waved at us through the bars of his cage, and that was it, we had to have him. It was the most intelligent thing he has ever done in his life. He is pretty useless as a cat - he can't jump, so we have put a box at the bottom of the bed, so that he can get onto it without ripping the sheets. He is gorgeous, even though he has OCD tendencies...

StillYummy · 09/10/2015 12:46

Is he really stupid though? My cat isn't very bright, or so I thought till my dh said "he isn't stupid, he lives by the why get a dog and bark yourself rule" so basically pfc would rather I got up to open his preferred door than go through the cat flap, rather I picked him up and put him on the bed (not a jumper), rather be towel Fred when he comes in than shake the water off himself if it rains etc. So basically I am the evil genius's bitch.

StillYummy · 09/10/2015 12:47

Dried, not Fred
