Will my kitten hate me after a week in Cattery?

I've had him a month & he has bonded with me to the extent that if we don't have extended snuggles at least twice a day (as in photos) he gets very antsy.

DH & I are going away for a week next weekend. DS2 (grown up) is staying here & he can see to the older cats, but this one isn't neutered or chipped yet & I'll be much happier knowing he's somewhere secure.

The Cattery I use is lovely & the owner does spend lots of time with the cats there, but will he get unbonded do you think? Or will he just be a bit cross with me?

Also the older cats are only just sort of adjusted to him being here (he gets on their nerves sometimes) - will that process have to start again when he comes back?

Are you sure the cattery takes un-neutered toms?

I doubt he will hate you for long though. However, I would sleep with one eye open for a while when you get back and check your shoes before putting them on...

No, he'll get over it.
Ours love us more for a day or two after cattery. Lots of talking, head rubs, one of mine walked along the side of the bath purring and licking my hand last time (never before or since!)
I worry that as rescue cats, they think we've sent them back, which is sad.
Choose a nice cattery who you feel happy with. Ours give strokes and grooming daily which is nice. I spent longer choosing a cattery than I did choosing a nursery for DS (is that bad? I liked the first nursery straight away!)

Oh thanks for reassurance!

It's a lovely cattery, treaclecat Smile It's very clean, smells lovely, Feliway everywhere & the owner does REIKI on the cats if you want Grin plus lots of cuddles & general attention.

Slight drawback is that it's a 30-minute drive away, but it's so worth it compared with some others I've seen.

Soupy, they're OK with unneutered males under 6 months, & he's only 4 so that's ok.

Yes, I'm sure he will be fine. As long as you have done your homework and found a good one, which it sounds like you have. At least you can relax while you are away and know he is safe. He looks gorgeous BTW, very similar to my little one. We had to leave her for 2 weeks in the summer and she slotted back in to our house very easily and was affectionate.

I always use cat sitters as I don't like to take mine away from home. Now I've moved and have lovely neighbours they pop over everyday and feed and pet mine while we're away

Took him this morning & discovered he's a panicking panting pooer in the car, like one of my others Sad - I do wish this lovely cattery was a bit closer.

Anyway he was quite calm when I left him & the owner was very taken with him; she's put him in the unit closest to her desk so she can keep an eye on him, & promised to do some reiki on him (she says cats love it Grin)
