The litter tray

Going on holiday, feel guilty about leaving cats...

OH and I are going abroad for 2 weeks on saturday. We have a cat sitter coming in every day for 30 minutes to feed, water, play, change litter etc for our two girls.

But I feel so guilty about leaving them! We've left them before but never for this long. I get so worried in case there is a fire or something :S

We did think about putting them in a cattery but they are very sensitive indoor cats and I think the change of environment would just be too stressful. Whereas they are used to this cat sitter - she is a lovely, cat-mad lady.

Am I being ridiculous?

They'll be fine. Be prepared for them to ignore you when you get back though Grin

Yes they'll be fine but they'll either ignore you when you get back or follow you everywhere, shouting at you.

Have a lovely holiday :)

Honestly they will be fine. I agree with you that they will be happier at home than in a cattery and they have each other for company too. Have a great holiday.

Op, I was exactly the same as you about a month ago. We left our little one in a cattery for two weeks and I worried she would be unsettled when she got back. She was absolutely fine and slotted back very easily. Infact she was very loving and it was obvious she had been well looked after. Enjoy your holiday.

We had a cat sitter, and mine were fine. One had crapped on the bed and pissed on a pillow though.

They'll be absolutely fine; we do the same. The one time we've put our over sensitive boy in the cattery they had to get the vet out to give him something for stress (FUMING that this was on day 2 of 2 weeks btw, and they didn't even try to tell us - we could have had someone pick him up & take him back to our house Angry).

Now he stays at home & our Landlady pops in to feed & fuss him daily. Much happier puss.
