I think Asbo has another water infection.

What can I do? I water his food down so he gets more fluid and he eats it.

He won't drink any milk so lacto free milk is no use.

Rarely see him drink, even his water fountain went in the bin.

I'll buy a sample bottle tomorrow and get a sample off him but we can't have that every 3 weeks.

Would feliway work if I plug it in the room he sleeps in? he's so territorial and isn't calming down with age.

How sad I bet you won't be doing that! The thing is they might keep fighting and not backing down until one of them gets old and can't be bothered any more or gives in. Are you and neighbour at home all day so you could operate a timeshare or is there a particular time of day they tend to fight so you can keep one in then? Appreciate it won't be easy.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/09/2015 20:00

It's not practical, we all work so the cats are free range during the day, their cats are in at night too. If he wasnt fighting with him it would be the ginger boy next door or the marble tabby or the one who looks like a maine coon but we're not sure because we only see him running away.

Asbo is 6, the other cats don't look very old either so this is normal for now.

Other cats are out at night so they do get some respite from him. He's proper lap cat at home.

How is the little lad tonight?

'Put him to sleep' - who are these murdering fucks?

Sorry Fluffy I've had little sleep. But honestly. They're right off the Xmas card list, as is NDN B/W menace.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/09/2015 21:23

He seems ok. The spraying is the only symptom.

Some people don't like cats.

OP posts:
Corygal · 09/09/2015 22:02

Poor you having to put up with such insensitivity when you are stressed enough as it is.

It's good news about him being OK. Hope the spraying not too tiresome. For Dh as well.

If it helps, Mr C has rolled all over my newly-washed winter jerseys - all of them - ripped a few holes in the best ones, and deposited furs in every colour upon each of them. Now he has made a nest, kneading away happily.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/09/2015 20:02

I'm glad standards are being maintained in the cory household. Asbo wee'd on the Sheridan towel, not the DKNY one. Standards must be maintained.

The trouble is that they look so damned adorable rolling over on the washing that you just let them get on with it.

The cystease is here, two capsules sprinkled over food is prescribed for active cystitis.

One day of antibiotics left. Litter stood in (footprints visible) but not used.

OP posts:
DrTinkle · 11/09/2015 06:32

Good boy ASBO for not peeing on the designer stuff.

Wishing you luck with the cystease, I use cystophan (guessing they're all the same stuff) and I think it works. Tried to stop it for a while thinking I was paying a lot for what might be a placebo and it came back. Haven't seen any more since they went back on it.

If his urine etc tests come back negative and it's all stress would you get a behaviourist in to give you some tips? Must be stressful for you having him spraying everywhere. Isn't there some hormone treatment they give ex studs to stop them spraying? The vet will know. Did he always spray or is it a newer thing?

Corygal · 14/09/2015 12:47

Am on and offline at the mo not by choice but checking in on little Asbo's health.

TK Maxx do nice towels.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/09/2015 19:40

Let's not jinx it Grin

How is the little pumpkin doing?

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/09/2015 20:46

Well it was great until tonight, just weed in the house.

Vet's tomorrow I think. He's still on two cystease capsules a day.

OP posts:
Corygal · 24/09/2015 21:42

Oh bad luck. Tch. Mr C threw up on the bed this am, keeps doing it, I think it's his metacam.

Good luck at the vet's. Poor you and poor Asbo.

cozietoesie · 24/09/2015 22:28

I wouldn't use wood pellet litter. Once - and seeing the expression of utter disdain on Oneago's face - was quite enough.

Fluffy

Have you thought of buying pre-prepared raw cat food? (All nutritionally balanced and everything so all you have to do is defrost it.) It's available for home delivery within the UK.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/09/2015 07:10

Metacams a nsaid isnt it? I dont react well to that but I'm ok if I take ranitidine regularly. Maybe he can have a cat version of ranitidine?.

It's an old drug so cheap now.

Oddly he's been using his tray again but only overnight. He's poo'd in it too Shock.

Can you link to the raw food? I spend £6 a week feeding him at the moment.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 25/09/2015 09:03

Here are a couple, Fluffy.

Link 1

Link 2

but I'm sure that if you search on raw cat food UK, you'll get many more. (Or the Bengal forums will gather you in like the Provident Son and help you into the fold.)

Things seem to have changed recently - six months ago, it was all 'Coming shortly' statements rather than actuality.

I suspect you will have to search for the best deal because the stuff is not cheap. (But then, if the food really agrees with him and prevents vet visits, you're avoiding the costs of those I suppose. ) You may have to regard the bought stuff as a stepping stone to doing your own from scratch - just to see if it suits.

Corygal · 25/09/2015 19:48

You know what, Fluffy, Tesco value chicken is almost the same price as pouches, I worked it out once. Scuttling round the meat reductions at M&S after 8pm is a cracker for bargain mince and things.

I cook the chicken but don't cook the mince. That might be wrong, by the way, but it's easier on the fangs.

Mind you, if I'm really worried about Mr C he gets M&S organic chicken breast, while I enjoy a baked potato. It makes me feel better, anyway.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/09/2015 20:14

Do you even get butter? Grin, you don't really pop out anywhere round here, supermarkets are 5 miles away. Has he stopped being sick now? I genuinely think ranitidine is used in cats too. Or omeprazole. The point is that they stop sore stomachs. Especially after drinking.

Raw food is outside our budget. The vet has said to take a sample in and they will test for crystals.

He's had his booster and has gone out in the dark.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 25/09/2015 21:18

It's not cheap, is it? Sad

Good luck to him.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/09/2015 21:25

No, but it will get cheaper. Pets at home do frozen dog barf but no cat.

OP posts:
Corygal · 25/09/2015 21:45

I jolly do Fluffy & the other day I defiantly bought cheese instead of ham to have with it (the ham tends to glide off the plate should I glance up at the telly, hem).

Asbo needs 55 nuggets a day - oof, I don't think I could eat that much. How about asking at the butcher's.

Honestly, Gourmet Night at The Fat Duck seems your better option. You could throw in a birthday cake for Seniorboy and still come out quids in Grin

Corygal · 25/09/2015 22:00

Brainwave - The Blue Cross sell pet food to their patients at very good rates. Is it worth ringing up and seeing what they charge? You have to collect it as far as I know, but it might be worth the trip.
