Annual vet appointment for vaccs/teeth - silly questions?

Sorry for the silly questions.

I have had my rescue girl for a year in October :) & she is insured by Petplan. The vets have said that they send me a renewal for her vaccs but do I need to be vigilant & make sure she has had the annual jabs before the policy renews for next year?

Also in the small print it says she needs to have a dental appointment once a year, when I phone & book it what do I ask for?

Thanks :)

Our vets always check the cats' teeth at the vaccination booster appointment.

Just ask the receptionist what your vets do when you phone to book. It only seems to take a minute or two.

Believe me, no questions here are 'silly'. Smile

Are you sure that the insurance company requires a separate dental appointment once a year? (That seems a little excessive but I don't know what the very latest insurance clauses are.)

I've always arranged for my boys to have their MOT at the time of their annual jabs - so I make sure, given that it's a scheduled consultation, that the vet does their shots, checks out their teeth, weight, general condition etc etc etc.

Maybe other posters do it differently, though, so I'd welcome their comments.

We have a general cat MOT (COT??) done when it's booster jabs time and they always check teeth at the same time

The vaccinations and dental aren't linked to the policy dates...

It's just that it's standard to have annual vaccinations and they do a health check (and a look at their teeth) at the same time.

So you go with your vet's schedule and the insurance are happy that they're vaccinated and having regular check ups, that's all it's about.

Ah thanks everyone, I read the T&C when I took out the insurance & thought at the time, mustn't forget to get her teeth seen to & I think that morphed into a separate appt in my mind, I had no idea they would do it with the vaccs or that she would have an MOT! :)

Excellent.

Thanks again.
