Brought our new addition home yesterday, she is gorgeous, playful and has settled in already. She is 13 weeks.

My concern is this. She was fed early morning yesterday (in case she pooped in her travel carrier on the very long train journey home. She didn't) and fed straight away when we got home, but she hasn't pooed yet. I don't think she has done one since yesterday lunchtime. Is this normal?

We got her from a family member and was informed that they'd been feeding her wet adult cat food but we're feeding her dry kitten food, so could it be a case of her stomach dealing with the change?

TIA

She has maybe done one you have just not found it yet! Or as you say the change in food and circumstances she's maybe not ready to go yet, has she done a wee?

Why did you change to dry food? I'd switch back and transition slowly if you have to at all. Wet food is better for them as it hydrates them too.

I have scoured every nook and cranny to see if she's done one but nothing yet. She's done quite a few wee's and is very good at using her litter tray, even with the change of litter type

There was no reasoning to it tbh. Just spoken to family member and they said she has had dry food previously (she was fed whatever was the cheapest/on offer). She eats it no problem.

Our newbie (3 year old) came home Tuesday afternoon and has not yet pooed either.

I am keeping and eye on him but assuming that either he has temporarily clammed up out of the anxiety of moving or has found somewhere else.

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 27/08/2015 08:16

He has used the tray for wee so he knows where it is.

was her mom helping her to poo? i vaguely remember my cat not pooing once and me wiping his bottom with a damp flannel to help him

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 27/08/2015 08:53

Ok, mine has now pooed. [smiled]

My apologies for not responding, my "I'm on" must have decided to be a dick.

She has pooed. A big stinker too.

Her mum stopped stimulating a few weeks ago. Which I'm glad of because I'm not sure I could do that.

This morning I discovered she has lodgers Angry. She's been to the vet to get them treated, injections and de-wormed. She's now very happily chasing the reflection of my phone Grin
