My cats had fleas so I treated them at home, trying numerous things. My sons were bitten as were DH and I but I didn't want to take them to the vet as they are traumatised by the car.

Confession: I put my cats before my sons.

The cats have been to the vet today and they didn't have too many but have been treated and are currently hiding from me making me feel guilty.

Crazy cat woman, bad mum or knowing my place cat slave?

I think it's lovely of you to try keep the cats from being traumatised, after all you can explain to DH and sons about the problem but you can't explain to the cats that the journey to the scary vets, being shut in the carrier and the noisy car is really not anything to worry about Star

Thank you.

I've been out for two hours and both cats are where I left them. One hiding in the wardrobe and one in snuggled in a box of teddies. Think they are still upset.

The nurse wants me to keep them in for 48 hours. Do I really have too? My boy cat will really want to go out once he's offer his upset.

I've been allowed to feed them but they are both hiding again. All I wanted to do was show them the litter tray Sad.

Its alright, I love my cat more than my husband. He knows it too.

Fleas must really itch though.

How about buying the flea treatment in 6 month packs? then no fleas and no traumatized cats.

Asbo is much better in car journeys than he was now I've figured out a way of getting him in the carrier with no trauma.

The odd miaow on the way there and icy silence on the way back.

Gymbunny1204 · 26/08/2015 19:24

Ive bought six months worth and now they've been weighed I don't have to take them back to get more.

Does anyone know about them having to be kept in? They would like to go out I'm sure.

You mean keeping them in after the flea treatment? As long as it's not bucketing down with rain (which it is here) then it's not a problem for them to go out.

Gymbunny1204 · 26/08/2015 19:45

Yes. I asked the nurse because of the rain. They were treated around 11, it has rained on and off all day and were forecast more I think but they are confused by the litter tray so haven't been all day.

Eek, sorry, I was busy reading another thread Blush We never keep our boys in after being flea treated so I'm sure it will be okay if they go out Smile

My boy cat is currently sleeping in the shoe shop bag Grin.
