Food amounts for kitten if giving both wet/and dry?

Hi

Just trying to gauge the best amounts to feed my new kitten. He's a 41/2 month old Siberian and has been with us a fortnight. Going to be HUGE and growing apace so I am wanting to make sure he's getting enough.

Breeder said 2x wet meals a day and biscuits ad lib so he's getting one kitten food pouch morning and evening plus a couple of generous handfuls of Royal Canin kitten biscuits. He's polishing off the wet food (providing sir aporoves of the flavour anyway :) ) and eating most but not all of the biscuits.

Is that about right? All guidance on packets seems to be for feeding either wet or dry as a complete diet but not as a combi.

DH, experienced in the ways of babies but a first time pet owner asks if there is a health visitor for cats Grin

I don't know the answer but with a young/growing cat I would be inclined to just give them as much as they want, and then perhaps cut back if they show signs of filling out too much. If he's not eating all of the biscuits then he's obviously self-regulating pretty well and isn't too hungry so I would think it's fine to carry on with what you're doing.

Cat health visitors would be on my list of policies to implement when I rule the world.

Thank you - interrupted by Mumsnet hack from reply yesterday!

He had an extra lunch yesterday as we were going out which seemed to be appreciated Smile Agree with you he is self regulating so will just play it by ear for a while.

Couldn't you make a fortune as a cat health visitor? And the owners would even be pleased to see you!
