A lady found one of my cats in the gutter on my road. It had just happened, my daughters cat, she's at a festival I can't tell her. I am alone. I have other cats and always thought they were quite safe. Quiet road, 20 mph. Oh God he was the sweetest little cat called Bambi.

Thank you all so much. Posted on here in a daze, but you have all helped me so much. Just text my cousin to tell her, she is going to try and come and see me tomorrow.

Thank you all. Flowers

Yes at least it was quick. And he was happy. Am on the vodka now. My Dts did the shopping as I was in hospital, so got no soda, orange juice etc. Having mango vodka with Asda cherryade. X

Massive condolences from me too Paula. My parents puppy was run over last November when we were looking after her. I thought we would never be the same again(sounds dramatic but there's a big family backstory). It was awful but we all came through it. I posted in chat the day it happened and got so much wonderful support. Flowers

Thank you Andthen, sorry to hear about the puppy Flowers the lady who found my cat told me she had a dog hit by a car in front of her and how traumatic it was. I love dogs and cats, all animals actually, they really do become family. In a way better my girls are away, I can compose myself before I tell them, we are all animal nutters in our family. My parents nursed a cat through a stroke, and then pneumonia xx

I'm so sorry, I've lost 2 to drivers, it's always a huge wrench, more than when they get ill.

Indantherene · 22/08/2015 17:00

I'm so sorry. We lost a number of cats to the road when we were younger. Our newest additions have had to be indoor cats as the family over the road have lost 3 in as many years.

Rarity08 · 22/08/2015 17:00

Massive hugs & hand hold for you paula Flowers. It's heartbreaking Sad. Vodka and cherryade seems like a good plan Wine
Rip Bambi

Oh my god, I am so sorry. It hurts like hell. Hugs xx

We bought a house on a very quiet road and have had many cats over the 20yrs I've been here - we still lost one to a car - you were very unlucky paula. He clearly was much loved and had a good life x

paulapompom · 22/08/2015 17:53

Thank you all for your messages, they are helping. Of all my cats he was the most naive iyswim. He ran about like a kitten. I think the others are more wary. I won't dwell on 'if I hadn't rented here' Thank you Flowers x
