But he keeps coming in stealing all the very expensive cat food!

He he, these cats are moving in by stealth.

Chewbecca · 08/07/2015 21:42

We swapped to a microchipped sure flap a month or so back because of a badger visiting us through our cat flap!

It was recommend by MNers & I'm very grateful as I'd never heard of them before either, another collar refuser here.

We are getting through a LOT less cat food now!

This is my sofa
This is my slanket
This is not my cat. This is Cooper-from-next-door (well, next-door when BFF-and-I-still shared, two houses ago).

He was v skittish at first but then decided that our house was OK (because we had excellent dry noms, freely available, probably) and people were cool.

When we stopped sharing, Splodge (our remaining cat) went with BFF (as she had a garden etc). Once BFF had moved to somewhere she could fit a microchip cat flap, her food bill halved. She now has three cats and the chip-flap works really well; you can set different modes for different cats so if you need to take one particular one to the vet, it's relatively easy to log on and set that cat's access to "in only".

All my 4 were rescue strays though, one is a feral. I can't take in all the strays, I'm a single mum with a disabled child, I really can't afford it.

I have a similar problem, cat identical to my own comes in through my bedroom window, walks past sleeping human and cat then wakes me up with his loud chomping.

I wake up, prod Her Mystyness to wake her up to chase him out but then he's gone and she gives me the 'why did you wake me up?' look.

Oh and he has identical markings to mine, he is allowed (by Her Mistyness) in the back garden.

Hurr1cane · 15/07/2015 20:17

Someone has contacted me on Facebook saying this IS there cat and he has been missing for 3 weeks. I've locked the cat flap so he can get in but not out again but for the first time in weeks he's nowhere to be seen! Fucking typical!

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 15/07/2015 20:34

That is indeed typical cat behaviour. At least the owner knows he's alive.

Def their cat? not cat nappers?.

Hurr1cane · 15/07/2015 20:50

They've sent a couple of photos of him in their house. Definitely looks like him!

OP posts:
Hurr1cane · 15/07/2015 20:51

And I asked the usual questions, is he neutered etc, because I know this one isn't.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/07/2015 20:57

Well if they didnt do his pom poms no wonder he wanders.

Corygal · 15/07/2015 21:46

Is terrible cute. He's your wife now, Dave.

Hurr1cane · 15/07/2015 21:46

He's in but he hates me. He's sat there growling and hissing. Don't fancy getting close enough to catch him

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/07/2015 22:12

Well yes obviously you are an awful person Grin

Are they coming to get him? I've tried to get full tom into a box. It wasnt fun.

Hurr1cane · 15/07/2015 22:14

They're now saying it isn't there's, without coming to see him. And now he's trapped in my house and won't leave without ripping my face off. He may well be a feral. There's loads round here. I've had two orphaned feral litters last year and he certainly looks like he could have fathered some!

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 15/07/2015 22:18

Oh for heavens sake. Well this a crap situation.

Hurr1cane · 15/07/2015 22:22

I've managed to get him back out. I'm hoping that the situation will have scared him into not coming back now. He's a terrifying beast. I wasn't going to grab him, the feral kittens I had until they were tame didn't even go limp when I scruffed them and ripped my hands to bits and they were only 4 weeks old. I feel for the poor thing. I'm sure there's loads of ferals here because no one neuters their males. My big ragdoll Tom is neutered and he usually scares the other Tom cats off but not this one. I'm not surprised, he's a hard little brute!

What irritating people

Look at this to cheer you up

thechive.com/2015/05/23/cat-saturday-this-is-not-my-cat-edition-24-photos/#.o1sm8g:T49Y

ps can you just replace sureflap into the current cat flap hole?

cozietoesie · 15/07/2015 22:25

I think it's probably time to call the local CPL and have them humanely trap him so that they can wave goodbye to his pom-poms.

Hurr1cane · 15/07/2015 22:29

I'm saving up for sure flap. I've been messaging CPL all night but they haven't said much except to let him back out and at least I know he'll come back. But I don't want him to come back he scares me, and my son has severe special needs and will try to grab him if he sees him, I don't want his eyes ripping out really.

Hurr1cane · 15/07/2015 22:31

That's brilliant that link!

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 15/07/2015 22:31

An adult full tom will be properly feisty and so strong too. Do you even have a cpl though?.

It will probably scare him off for a bit.

Hassled · 15/07/2015 22:31

He looks worryingly like my old bastard cat, but he's been neutered. Phew.

cozietoesie · 15/07/2015 22:31

Maybe give them a buzz tomorrow? I'd explain that situation to them and see what they can do.

Hurr1cane · 15/07/2015 22:32

Yeah we have cats protection, they're based not too far away from me as well.

OP posts:
Hurr1cane · 15/07/2015 22:35

I'll call them tomorrow, see what they say. Hoping I've seen the end of him to be honest.
