It looks like the last two kittens are going to have to go to an animal shelter..

My cat had kittens 10 weeks ago. They were accidental kittens ( she came to is apparently neutered and well..wasn't). 3 out of the 5 have been rehomed but I've just had the woman who was meant to be having the last two saying she no longer can.

We can't keep them, there isn't enough room and two cats and a 7 month old is more than enough. Pets at home won't advertise for rehoming so it looks like they're going to have to go to a shelter Sad

Awwwwwwwww they're GORGEOUS!! I'm in the Southeast and tempted. But I already have two feline masters - almost a year old - not sure how they'd react! I love kittens.

Nyborg · 23/06/2015 20:52

You could try Animal Rescue and Care in Twickenham. I know them well and they're brilliant, though it's entirely run by volunteers from their own home and so often they're full to bursting. They will do a brilliant job by those kittens if you can get them into ARC, though.

SophieHatters · 23/06/2015 20:53

Oh gosh they are SO sweet

we are south east (are you in Kent?)

I was thinking the other day about another cat. We have only got rabbits and chickens now so no competition.

Are they male or female?

PacificDogwood · 23/06/2015 20:54

They are SO not going to a shelter, now that you've put them on MN Grin

SophieHatters · 23/06/2015 20:54

Two would be perfect actually as they would keep one another company. I assume they get on together?

wannaBe · 23/06/2015 21:07

I'm in kent......
please don't advertise them on gumtree. Have never heard of preloved but the name alone sounds bloody awful.

Are they male or female?

Rosieliveson · 23/06/2015 21:15

They are adorable! I have an all black cat and would love an all white too but we have a 2 year old and are expecting a second so it's not good timing for us.
I can't imagine 2 gorgeous kittens going unwanted now tht they are on mumsnet!!

bonzo77 · 23/06/2015 21:36

Who said she was neutered? I'd be insisting they take the kittens.

cloudlessskies · 23/06/2015 21:41

OP. I got a young cat from someone, I was told she had not been neutered so I booked her in asap. When the vet had cut her open she was already pregnant! Early enough for it not to be as bad as it could have been and the vet removed them but still sad.
I second another poster, don't advertise on gumtree. At least with a shelter they do checks on potential owners. Good luck.

Babelange · 23/06/2015 21:44

So sweet! Any chance you are near Watford? Alas only interested in one kitty - have just been declined by someone who only wanted to re home their kitties in pairs... we have a nice house and garden, quiet residential street but only wanted the responsibility of owning, feeding and insuring one... I have been standing by my mobile in case the lady was let down like you...

Lonecatwithkitten · 23/06/2015 22:08

If you are in Berks or Bucks I would recommend Thames Valley Animal Welfare - they mainly re home cats despite their. All cats are fostered in family homes and never give up on a cat.

colouringinagain · 23/06/2015 22:11

I'm in Bucks. .. and v interested. ..

thecatneuterer · 24/06/2015 05:32

Unfortunately I can't be much help. We're in London (Celia Hammond Animal Trust) and we are getting at least five litters of kittens coming in to our branch every week - and these are abandoned ones/ ones in danger. As well as all the usual adults. We are having to say no to people who just want to give them to us (although we try to neuter the mum for them). And last weekend (we do homing at weekends) we homed just eight cats/kittens and the weekend before just seven. That's not seven litters. That's seven individual cats/kittens.

So it doesn't take a maths genius to work out the state we're in.

I agree with definitely not advertising on Gumtree etc, but I'm really not sure what to suggest, except for friends/family/word of mouth. I would also say that four cats isn't really that much more work than two.

Also they look old enough to neuter now. So I would recommend getting them done and asking any new owner to donate towards the cost of it. At least you know that it's done then and it also shows that any potential owner is serious and at least reasonably responsible.

googoodolly · 24/06/2015 07:15

Whereabouts in the SE are you??

Wonkina123 · 24/06/2015 07:31

You should really have had the cat checked over by a vet when you took it on rather than trust a verbal confirmationed she'd been spayed. Rescue centres are always over run with kittens and run using charity money so isnt ideal for you to offload the kittens to them. Cant your local vets surgeries advertise them for you? You should then get legit animal lovers contacting you

fairbalance · 24/06/2015 16:11

I am in the same situation I have accidental kittens. I took on 3 cats from a ill friend with an autoimmune disease and the cats were pregnant. I would love to rehome some of the kittens but if all else fails I shall have 16 cats! They are much loved. There are 10 kittens I plan to keep 3 of them so have potentially 7 to rehome. One is beautiful white with greys paws, ears and tail plus posh grey ones and the rest are black.

Their favourite toys are chewing through USB cables, chasing screwed up tissues and knocking drinks over to watch and chasing the drops as well as climbing the curtains and peering over the pole at the top! I am sleeping with a bed full of cats and kittens! They love annoying my two huge dogs too.

I am in South Bucks. Local vets is a good idea thanks for that suggestion.

SE London I have neighbours with girls about 2.5 and 6 who'd be interested maybe, PM me.

Wonkina123 · 25/06/2015 10:46

Ok, apols. Rescue centre should have checked this properly so agree them taking the kittens would be fair enough

GiddyOnZackHunt · 25/06/2015 10:55

Argh. I'd love them. Only problem is we're away on holiday soon and they'll be too young to leave or put in the cattery.

colouringinagain · 25/06/2015 21:37

fairbalance I am v near you and world love a kitten. Need to work out how to pm you!

fairbalance · 26/06/2015 19:34

@coloringagain You PM buy the little envelope near the search bar in the top right. I will PM you.

fairbalance · 26/06/2015 19:37

I have messaged you now :)

moonbells · 29/06/2015 11:04

Oh aren't they lovely? If perchance you are in Bucks do pm me... though suspect Mooncat would have a fit as might DH. She only just tolerates Moonkitten sometimes and he is her kitten (we rescued both together).
