Getting my cat neutered tomorrow

Tomorrow, my lovely little fluffy baby cat is getting his bits and bobs chopped off.

I feel really guilty, as though I'm putting him through unnecessary pain and stress. He has to fast so hasn't eaten since 8pm, and is currently crying because his food bowl isn't there Sad

I feel really sorry for him. Sad

As he's my first cat, what can I expect tomorrow? How long will be there for? Will he have to wear a cone? I hope not. He will be less than impressed if he does!

Thanks Smile

Good luck - he might just be a little nutty on his return. (On the other hand, he might just be as normal after waking up - it depends on how it takes him. Smile)

Like Gamer says, shop-bought flea/worm stuff are rubbish. They can also be dangerous (Bob Martin). I order Advantage (fleas) and Drontal (worms) online. You need to know your cat's weight though. Ask the vet when you pick him up?

I had my little Monsieur neutered last summer, and I was a nervous wreck! The anesthetic had a strange effect on him. He got out his cat carrier, ran up his scratching post, and swung around it, pole-dancer style. Then proceeded to hassle for food all night. I mixed lots of water in with it, to ensure he was properly hydrated. He eventually settled at 1am when I took him to bed.

I'm sure your little bloke will be fine.

A ten minute snip and tuck will be a thousand times less painful than a lifetime of fighting other toms.

I was taught by the vet in use for TNR how to neuter a boy. It's very quick and simple, 15 minutes max. He'll be just fine. It'll stop him wandering, procreating, fighting and getting testicular cancer. Job done :)

How is he?
