Think we have bought everything we need for now.

Will he need a vets appointment asap for a check over? When will he need jabs?

Any other advice? Smile

Taken not took, excuse me I'm on second glass ofWine Grin

pinkchampagne1 · 08/05/2015 07:36

Ah good, glad it is ok. Was worried I was introducing him to too many rooms and confusing him. He is getting braver and coming out to explore more. He is purring lots when he is stroked - he has the loudest little pur! Smile

He still doesn't seem to have eaten much (if any) of the dry kitten food so may try the pouches and see if they make a difference and try him with some chicken later.

The pouch of wet food seems to have done the trick - it is wolfing it down! Grin

"He is wolfing it down" that should say

Aw, well done, both of you!

I know nothing about kittens/cats, but my experience of nervous new dogs suggests that eating is a very good sign of stress going down. And the more smelly aromatic said food, the more tempting Grin. Wet food wins every time!

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/05/2015 08:08

When I first had ASBO I tried him on dry but he wouldn't eat it, then I read the instructions and it said to soften the kibble with water for kittens.

Lucky in a way because he's spectacularly intolerant to maize gluten.

pinkchampagne1 · 08/05/2015 08:53

Oh that's interesting, thanks for that, Fluffycloud77. Will try that next time. He is still crying a little but also exploring much more and we get lots of purring when he gets stroked so I think progress is being made slowly. He has also used his litter tray a few times and so far no accidents.

following with interest., and one of my rescue kittens, now fully grown, ( as big as she will ever get, which is not very large) draped over my arm as I type. Still cuddly, purry and loving.

pinkchampagne1 · 11/05/2015 08:58

Bertie the kitten has settled in really well, in fact he is on my lap purring away right now! We all just love him. Smile
He is using the litter tray really well, eating well, loves playing with his ball but seems a bit scared of the other toys I got him! He is less nervous now and loves a bit of attention. He is into everything and often runs behind the sofa or hides behind the TV. First injections for him tomorrow!

Hi pinkchampagne I too, have got a new kitten. His name is Walter and sends Bertie his love :)

I have booked mine into the vets, they provide a kitten starter pack for £65 which provides the first 2 injections, fleaing and worming and microchipping. Does your local vet have anything like that? I have heard far too many horror stories about using flea treatments on kittens to use anything other than that prescribed by the Vet

RedKite1985 · 11/05/2015 13:36

Oh and it includes a 6 month check up and neutering voucher

Olinguito · 11/05/2015 16:53

I think we need photos of these new kittens.

pinkchampagne1 · 11/05/2015 19:29

Ah, I love the name Walter, RedKite! Smile
Thanks for the info about the kitten starter pack - I will ask as to whether our vets offer something similar.

Bertie's quite a naughty name.

pinkchampagne1 · 11/05/2015 19:43

He lives up to it as he has a naughty streak, Fluffycloudland77. He has me wrapped round his little paw though! Wink

We are getting a new kitten tomorrow! Any advice for us?

Please report her though, what she is doing is very cruel.

He is a lovely kitten though.

Olinguito · 12/05/2015 00:44

Aw, what a little sweetie.
