Is it just me?

DH and I are going on holiday tomorrow and H is being looked after by his usual cat sitter so I know he's in safe hands. Why do I feel so guilty about leaving him though? He keeps looking at me with that soft, kitten like look and I know I'm going be emotional when we drive off and leave him!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels like this. Please be gentle with me if it's just me!

I have to take my Siamese boys on holiday with me - or, as is usually the case, not take a holiday - so I can't really comment. Smile

If we stay at DH's Mum's cottage we can take H with us but sadly we're going to America so he can't come. The cat sitter has said she'll send me pictures and last time he managed to look cute enough to get given a new toy!

(I can't believe I just said unfortunately we are going to America!)

I suspect you'll be a future candidate for an interactive cat-cam. Grin

I have thought about it but I'd be worried if I couldn't see him!

We've cut short a holiday to get our girls from the cattery. I felt so bad about leaving them but in reality they were happily cuddled up.

cozietoesie · 29/04/2015 17:31

Gawd - you've got it bad! (Interactive does mean you can call them to come to the camera you.)

I'm terrible when I have to leave my 2 cats. I even asked MIL to send me a text when she'd been in to feed them every single time. She was going in 3 times a day Grin

One of my cats had 3 kittens on Sunday and I had to set up my iPad and phone as baby monitors so that I could keep an eye on mum and babies when I'm not at home. Although I went to my mums yesterday evening and 2 of the kittens were off screen and I was a nervous wreck worrying about them until I got home. They were quite happy curled up sleeping!!

At the moment, the youngest is being a bit of an arse. So I threaten him with a stay in a cattery. Keep him on his toes.

cozietoesie · 29/04/2015 19:00

Sorry Mantra - from the sound of it, he's got you taped. Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/04/2015 20:46

I'm ok with it, Dh isn't and try's to guilt me into ringing every day. I don't because the cattery owners have looked after cats before.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 29/04/2015 22:35

I think DH thinks I'm mad! It doesn't help that H is curled up looking cute - it makes me feel more guilty!

He'll be fine, Pink. He's in his usual place which smells of you all and he's got his usual (experienced) sitter and food etc. Shouldn't be a problem.

The only thing you have to worry about is that you'll get the huffy cold shoulder on return - on general principle even if he was cuddling up to the sitter the night before - because of your lèse-majesté in going off and leaving him behind. Many Dreamies will be required! Grin

I have to go to a different continent for two months this year, starting in december. The cats are staying at home with a live in minder. I am already regularly properly fretting about whether they will be ok. So you're not as mental as me!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 30/04/2015 11:31

Well I'm at the airport. The farewell went ok, a few tears and lots of cuddles, much to Harry's disgust! He's had a stroke of luck though, we discovered this morning that there's a problem with the central heating and the radiator next to his bed is permanently on low!
