How to stop the furry fuckers peeing on the kitchen counters

Every now and then one of the cats (not sure which one and we have three) has pissed on the kitchen counter or more specifically the toaster. I've chalked this up to being unhappy about their food or something. But inter last week most morning I've come down to a puddle some where on the counter. I'm not sure how to figure out who it is but most importantly how to stop them. Unfortunately the kitchen is open plan so there isn't a door I can shut or anyway to shut them out.

How many litter trays do you have for them at the moment? And when did they last see the vet?

Must be spraying behaviour, no? Would it help OP to heavy duty clean the counters & toaster?

Lock them out of kitchen, otherwise I suggest.

Or they've got a uti.

Cats can hide pain really well.

Mix up some biological washing powder with water.
Use an ultraviolet light to find where it is. I got a key ring one for £5 in Maplin
Clean the area with the washing powder solution.
If you use normal cleaners they contain ammonia which encourages them back to the same place

Thanks for the cleaning tip. I'll give it a go. And I'll book them all in at the vet.
I think it may be related to the cheeky Tom next door who sometimes tries to come in the house. Usually when the weather is nice they spend all they're time in the garden but lately they haven't been out as much.

We have one litter tray but I may try to find space for another.
And lock them upstairs at night since downstairs is open plan so I can't shut them out of the kitchen.

Some of mine do this when they're upset. It's generally to do with an argument between themselves, or when a particularly feisty new cat arrives in the household and upsets the balance.

I've not found a solution. I just try to cover sockets as they seem to be a target and it keeps fusing the circuits and clean up with white vinegar.
