Food enquiries

I am sure this is often asked but how much to feed him!

He is new to us (rescue cat) and is 6 years old and about 5 kilos.

He was used to dry food at the cat rescue centre in the morning and wet at night but he seems to love wet food and not be interested in dry, although he did eat it the first two days he was here! He has now been with us 5 days and already seems 'fussy'!

And lovely too of course!

He is not going out and of course has access to water and the whole house (large enough to rush about if he wishes to and burn off a few calories).

He also gets a few (maybe 10) Dreamies a day.

We are currently giving him about 40 grams of dry James Wellbeloved dry food in the morning, a little bit of cat milk and 100-150 grams of wet (Whiskers pouches) in the evening. He loves the cat milk and wet food but not the dry and seems very hungry in evenings. What am I doing wrong, please?

I know dry cat food is good for their teeth and in the cat centre as food was left out all day they went for dry in the daytime.

Advice, please?

Mine have a bowl of Applaws dry to nibble on through the day, then a 150g tin of Cosma in 2 meals. I keep the dry topped up all the time.

But if he doesn't like his dry food, then maybe step up the wet, until you find one he likes?

I've tended to feed on demand. Cats tend to self-regulate. If he's been a stray though, he might have become greedy around food. Thinking that he has to fill up while he can.

Sorry that's all a bit vague. and probably not very helpful
