Water fountain

Can any recommend a good indoor water fountain please. There are so many to choose from. Would like to get one for my little darlings for the hotter months. They currently only drink their water from a glass on my kitchen window sill which isn't great for any of us. Thanks in advance.

Our two have a catit fountain, which they find acceptable. It's quiet, big reservoir, doesn't use much electricity, and lankycat is endlessly amused if I drop an icecube on the top for her to play with.

It's a great idea - if the cat will use it! I bought one for H and he backed away from it and disappeared into the garden and wouldn't drink indoors until I put his old bowl back!

I wasted £30 on one. My cat would not go near it. Had to admit defeat in the end.

I bought one of these teardrop shaped ones with the "slide" for the water to trickle down and a reservoir. Both cats very suspicious whenever it was turned on - they reluctantly drank from it when it was switched off, but even leaving it there for a couple of weeks they didn't go near it when it was switched on. They happily returned to drinking from a plastic jug of water on the floor and the old bird bath outside.

Umm.. Food for thought. I don't want them to refuse it. Thanks everyone.

I have one that quite likes it and will drink out of the middle tier (£30 from pets at home)

because it has a reservoir and filter I was topping up rather than changing the water -it went green!

Other cat still won't go near it and drinks out if the tap or the toilet

I have the pets at home one with the filter and yes you have to change the water (too easy just to top up )and the filter needs changed once a month or so.

I knew she would like it because she goes mad for taps and water going down the plug hole and she drinks so much water a bowl just sitting would end up empty too often.

yes mine love a running tap so hoping it will be a hit.

I have the catmate cat fountain which we got a week or so ago. I have only seen one cat drink from it once but they must be drinking from it as the level of water is going down.

They love a running tap so thought they'd love the fountain. I would say they prefer it to a bowl but don't love it as I hoped.

We have a catmate, it's been a big hit. It is used for drinking and for staring at!

We are currently using the small Catit ones, although I prefer Catmate as it can go in the dishwasher but cats don't like it.

We used to have the Catit dome one but it was so fiddly to clean and re-assemble I gave it to the rescue.

My boy took to them straight away, but my girl took a while longer, so if you can live with it just sitting around unused for a while, leave it in a place where the cat will find it, you may not realise it is being used unless you are there when it happens, we didn't know at first that she was using it.
