I need to re home my lovely cat

I have a lovely 8 year old boy who through no fault of his own I can't keep anymore. My circumstances have drastically changed.

I don't want to take him to a shelter. He's sensitive and it would be horrific for him.

Does anyone have any ideas? No friends or family that would help.

Try your local cpl. They can try to rehome while you keep the cat until an owner can be found. Or they could put him into a foster home.

I would also ask at your Vets. sometimes they have connections or know of people who are looking.

You could try gumtree or preloved but you would have to state you want to do a home check so your cat doesn't fall into the wrong hands, has there's lots of stories about small animals that are free are used for dog bait. Makes me sad when I see all the animals offered on these sites for free without home checks.

Personally I would steer clear of gumtree/preloved even with a homecheck. If you are able to keep the cat with you for a bit, a local charity may be able to find a new home for him while you "foster" him for them? I know a few of the charities near me do this, not just CPL.

Best of luck with your efforts, cat charities are so busy at the moment but you may be able to go on a waiting list if you ring every one near you.

I do feel for you as I nearly had to give up my beautiful fluffy tabby 15 or so years ago when I moved overseas for a year. Fortunately at the last minute some friends stepped in and looked after her for me.

i would try catchat.org

they will have a list of no kill shelters. don't rehome the cat yourself, a good shelter is the best way.
