If my cat likes Lilys Kitchen food what else would she like?

My cat loves lily's kitchen wet food. It is expensive. Is it worth the money or are there similar foods that are a bit cheaper?

Have a look at The Happy Kitty Company.

Not sure if they're any cheaper though.

chockbic · 15/02/2015 14:26

Some folk have mentioned natures menu?

Ours eats Wainwright's pouches.

tacal · 15/02/2015 14:31

Hope you find something she likes.

Nanasueathome · 15/02/2015 14:42

Slightly off trend
My dog has Lily's Kitchen and I buy it from Amazon on a continuous rolling order
It is cheaper and there is a discount for bulk buys
You have the option to skip any item if not required
Have a look, they do offer the Lily's Kitchen cat food as well

WienerDiva · 15/02/2015 14:45

Applaws goes down well with WeinerCat.

SmokingGun · 15/02/2015 15:11

Meowing Heads is a Pate consistancy too.

RubbishMantra · 15/02/2015 15:18

Also, forgot to say that mine love Cosma. Similar to Applaws, but not as pricey.

And you might want to have a look at the Zooplus website. Tis marvellous.

SmokingGun · 15/02/2015 15:23

Oh yes Cosma is good but the majority are complimentery so be careful which ones you buy (I was caught out with them!)

SmokingGun · 15/02/2015 15:24

Thrive and Schesir are both wet foods like Applaws that are complete

MrsTawdry · 15/02/2015 15:32

Mine loves Lily's Kitchen too but it's too pricey. He also likes Sheba but I've read that it's considered "junk food" for cats. It's so hard to find an affordable wet food that they like and is good for them too!

MrsTawdry · 15/02/2015 15:36

Meant to add he's on Gourmet Mon Petit at the moment....it's not too expensive. About £2.00 for 6 small pouches. They ARE small but he's a Siamese and doesn't eat a big meal in one go. Does anyone know if they're any good for him though?

MrsTawdry · 15/02/2015 15:39

Just checked on a cat forum and apparently the Gourmet Perle (Mon Petit) is like McDonald's for cats. Sad I don't know what to do either OP. I keep meaning to look into making my own food but it seems so gross and complicated!

RubbishMantra · 15/02/2015 16:08

If it's any help, Butcher's Classic (available from most supermarkets) and Animonda Carny from Zooplus are both good wet foods. Not pricey either.

I give mine Applaws dry it has 80% meat content and has no grains to free feed on and 2 wet dinners of Cosma and Animonda Carny per day.

tacal · 15/02/2015 18:08

Thank you for all your replies Smile Lots of great suggestions thank you.

I will look at the price of Lily's kitchen on Amazon, nanasue I hadn't thought about doing a recurring order. Thank you.

Smoking Thanks for reminding me to check they are complete foods.

I will have a look at the foods you have all suggested, thank you. She had applaws a few times and liked it but I stopped buying it because it is not complete. She won't eat dry food.

I hope you find something good Mrs Tawdry I read that Lily's kitchen sell a cheaper version of their food in tesco called lily's. Have you tried that?

I am away to read up on all these foods.

MrsTawdry · 15/02/2015 18:37

Tacal yes I've seen that and I still think it's too expensive.

maxybrown · 22/02/2015 12:12

what about some natural instinct? It's raw and comes frozen in 500g tubs.

George cat is sulking this morning as I've put down lilys kitchen instead of it as hadn't defrosted it yet

tacal · 22/02/2015 17:13

thanks for the suggestion maxy I have never thought about a raw diet. I looked at the website and it does sound good. I will certainly think about it. Waitrose have Lily's kitchen on special offer at the moment so I have bought another months supply while I decide what to do.

maxybrown · 24/02/2015 20:19

Yes I got some lilys kitchen on offer from ocado but he's dragging his heels with it since on the raw.

We got him at 4 months old and he got super poorly and was touch and go if he'd make it vomit and poo covered my kitchen :/ ad when he had been going for a poo honestly, you would've smelt it in the next town - anyway he's a strapping 8 months now and fit as a butchers..........er cat ha ha. His coat is absolutely glorious and it is true, he is eating much much less on the raw. He's a happy bunny (or cat). Since going on to raw I am having to check if he's been or not
