What kind of things do you do to pamper your cat?

We keep the stove going 24/7 over the winter for Old Cat. She never moves from it apart from visiting the litter tray. She even has her meals in front of it.

Fat Cat sleeps next to me in bed all night. I've knitted little squares to go over her and keep her warm.

I'm not very nice to Pearl because she has to sleep with my teenager in his room otherwise she'd hassle Fat Cat all night Grin she doesn't seem to mind though.

Of course, they get cheese flavoured Dreamies every afternoon Grin

Tell me your stories (photos of pampering welcome) Smile

Rolo in particular likes sleeping on the folded up curtains on my bedroom windowsill - they're floor length curtains and there's a radiator under the window, so I fold them up onto the sill to let the heat into the room. There's a gap between the bed and the window that makes it difficult for a cat to get behind the curtains and Rolo has tried jumping it and come a cropper a few times, so now I pull the curtains aside at the edge by six inches or so to give him a safe landing platform.

Both boys like sleeping in an old cat carrier, but they stick their heads out of it when they're sleeping and the plastic lip of the box makes it look uncomfortable like someone sleeping without a pillow. So I keep a folded up fleece blanket in front of the box to keep their heads cushioned.

I have been known to dry my landlady's cat with a heated towel when he comes in all soggy from the rain outside.

He goes mad for prosciutto (middle class cat) so he gets a bit of that if I am making something with it in.

Heated towel is nice. Pampered puss Smile

I do the sharing food thing. Last summer, we had a BBQ and I made my guests feel sick by letting MKitten munch on the same burger as me. Grin

My dad built a series of three steps/shelves up to a downstairs bedroom window so his (3 legged) Siamese could get in or out - the jump from the garden was a bit much for him

Rubbish, that's the equivalent of throwing mangy meat under the table for the dog.

Better luck next time, eh? Wink

Cat gets to sleep in our room with us (or on the windowsill if she prefers).and so our bedroom door is left open at night. She isn't normally allowed in there during the day though, so I usually carry her downstairs and arrange a blanket for her on a sofa or near where I'll be, if I'm in. She has 2 water fountains. She tells me if they are empty or dirty.

She likes to bring me things to fetch which used to be pipe cleaners or sticks which I would throw for her. Lately it's been live mice which we both hunt/chase together though!
She often cries ate to sit so she can sit on me (hence my name; to her this is my main function in life) and sometimes I do!
She recently had an operation and I left my lectric blanket on all day for her, she loved it. DD was unwell at the same time and they cuddled up together for some of the time just for the shared warmth.

Seniorboy has slept in bed with his humans since he was 12 weeks old, CatCushion - and has had an electric blanket on for him all day since he was 14 and came to me. (Currently luxuriating down there while I type.)

That's not pampering - it's normal. Grin

Grin Chock They were delicious burgers, made by my own fair hands. He later furtively opened a packet of raw sausages and had a good old munch. Later, after some drink had been taken,I forgot one of the sausages had been nibbled and put it on the bbq and fed it to someone. Blush

We do serve our furry little masters well, don't we. And so we should. Smile

If you say so, Rubbish.

Oops, seems my BBQ invite got lost in the post Grin

He gets the best position in from of the woodburner. He sleeps on our bed on a comfy pile of blankets, he comes in under the covers each morning for a half hour cuddle and he curls himself into a comma so he fits next to me like a jigsaw piece.

Wondered why you weren't there for partly eaten by MKitten sausages Chock. Grin

I love it when they do the comma, Minimalist. I call it "prawn-like".

chockbic · 19/01/2015 13:11

I was washing my cat's fur that day.

Every day it seems as he loves sitting in the bath.

RubbishMantra · 19/01/2015 13:29
Grin MKitten likes the bath too! He jumps in to drink any droplets, then uses his front paws to hold on to the edge of the bath, then walks around on his hind legs, bit like a toddler learning to walk. Then he steals the shower gels and hurls them down the stairs.

He's also decided the toilet's a delicious place to drink from. He insists on accompanying me on every visit and stares fascinated at the water swirling away when flushed.

Aww they are little kitty kindred spirits. They will be on the spirits next, if we aren't careful Shock
