Sorry - another vomit one

Scabbers (2 yeas old, mostly outdoors) came in for tea and went to his bed as usual. Suddenly I heard him leap from the bed and vomit while he tried to run for the other room. He vomited again when he got there. A LOT of sick. I can't see any blood or worms in it - just food.

He immediately wanted to go outside so I let him, and he immediately started eating grass.

I know cats do vomit, but my other two don't seem to! And it was so MUCH. I shouldn't have let him out really, he'll be out all night now. Sad

Some cats are more sicky than others, and they can go through stages of being sick a lot.

For example, MCat comfort eats when he's stressed, then his little tummy can't take it and he throws up.

Isn't your's a bit of a hunter? Perhaps he's eaten a bad mouse? Or furballs?

CatKisser · 04/10/2014 18:03

Thanks - yes I'm certain he eats all kinds of vile animals outside...must have eaten something that disagreed with him. It just shocked me how he leapt up like that. And two huge piles of sick. Sad Interesting about the comfort eating. I noticed this morning he seemed to be eating a LOT recently. Confused
Stupid question - what do furballs look like? Do all cats have them? My indoor cats don't seem to?

Oh. Just googled furballs. Yeah they do do those Blush

I don't think a day ever goes by without me having to clear up a pile of cat vomit from somewhere in my house (but then I do currently have about 27 cats!). Mostly it's just what cats do from time to time for various reasons. It's only really worth worrying about if it happens repeatedly (or if they do it in your guest's shoes Blush)

CatKisser · 04/10/2014 18:09

27?? Wow! That's brilliant. Grin
When he comes back I will keep an eye on him. Last year he puked in a similar manner and I rushed him to the vet in a panic. He was absolutely fine but they flogged me some pro-kaolin which he wouldnt fucking touch
£50 for that little incident. Not keen to repeat!!

A few years ago one of mine started to retch.. looked around, and promptly puked into my DH's cycle helmet Grin . He was not amused....

Mine are all long haired and all vomit hairballs and/or food on a regular basis. I only worry if it's several days in a row... or the sick looks different than normal!

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/10/2014 19:03

Fluffycat does that, as long as he's ok in himself I don't worry.

hiddenhome · 04/10/2014 22:25

Scoffing grass and throwing up is normal, but he may have a furball. These generally come up in the end.

CatKisser · 05/10/2014 00:44

Well he came back while my guests were here and was on best behaviour - rubbed against my legs and preened a bit before buggering off to bed!
Hmmmmmmmm!!
