Lethargic and fur loss

Any thoughts prior to vet visit on Monday?

TSScat (girl, age 2) is usually super-perky. She is a mighty with quite a lustrous short-haired coat of which she and DH, although quite what he's got to do with it I don't know is rightly proud.

She is a bit lethargic, bit off her food but most weirdly her fur has thinned out on her inner back legs and stomach.

As I say, she's going to the vets. But this is a new one for me and I'm starting to acquire more than a low-level of concern.

Hmm food for thought. 2 out of 3 symptoms, but she's lost weight if anything vs. gained and not noticeably drinking more. Looks treatable though, so not too scary if that is the cause.

Mine's recently been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. He doesn't have all the symptoms, but his blood test result was really high.

Sorry to hear that Sunbathe I assumed you were talking from experience Sad. How old is your boy? How did the vet treat him ,and most import at,y is he on the mend?

He's 10, just been diagnosed. We're either looking at surgery, giving him a tablet for the rest of his life or radiotherapy.

Probably going for the surgery to take out the thyroid gland that has a lump on it. Hopefully he'll be fine after that.

The radiotherapy is a month away from home and it costs £1500. Total cure, but I don't think he'd handle being away from us that long.

Surgery sounds like the best plan Sun. Poor Suncat.

I have investigated TSScat further. She bit me. Suspect issue in tail area.

DH is nursing her Hmm

Does she have anything like sticky dandruff in her coat? AlpacaCat had the fur loss and the general seediness as well as this dandruff stuff.

It turned out to be eczema and the treatment was astonishingly easy and effective. Hope TSScat's vet finds it's something simple and quick to treat for you too.
