Cat has stopped eating, gradually since Wednesday, now hardly anything. Vomiting yesterday and distressed. Visit to the vets, given painkiller, antinflammatory and anti sickness drugs
Shes more comfortable today, but isn't asking for food. She's had water, and accepted a few flakes of tuna. She now asleep on my lap, I can't tell if she's flinching in pain or dreaming. Earlier she was playing with the tie to my tshirt.
Not sure what to do, but just offer food little and often and take her back to vets in am. She's 8.

What does the vet think it was?. Mine was ill earlier in the year for 3-4 days and just woke up well one day.

dingit · 14/09/2014 12:47

Suggested possible pancreatitis. They will do some tests tomorrow.
I'm scared it's a tumour. She has been a lot less active this year, I put it down to her being older Hmm

I think you have to wait & hope it's nothing serious.

It's hard isn't it?.

SwanneeKazoo · 14/09/2014 12:57

or possibly a twisted bowel/intestine (sorry, I don't know the proper term). A friend's cat had that and quickly went downhill. She did recover though. Could you call the vets today to discuss?

dingit · 14/09/2014 13:06

I've called the vet, as I have managed to get a teeny amount of food down her and she's drinking, we've agreed to see what tomorrow brings.
Thanks for your support, I'm a such a pessimist.

She's currently down at the compost heap trying to catch a mouse. That's a good sign isn't it?

Oh yes.

Lovethesea · 14/09/2014 18:09

Not for the mouse, but yes! Good sign:-)

This happened to me earlier this year. It took some time to get a diagnosis (though blood test will show it so get your vet to do full bloods tomorrow) but my cat had acute kidney failure. We don't know what caused it - he was touch and go on a drip at vet hospital for 3 days but he made it and is now well. Get the vet to test urea and creatinin levels in blood.

lilacmamacat · 15/09/2014 22:02

Just found this. How is she now? What did the vet say?

dingit · 16/09/2014 07:18

No idea what was wrong. Her appetite has returned and she's back to normal, accept refusing pouches of food, wants dried and fresh fish!

Hurrah Smile Glad to hear it. I hate it when cats get poorly, I always imagine the worst Sad
