Using my bedroom as a toilet!!!

My 6 month girl kitty (not yet spayed) has taken to using my bedroom as a toilet. She has always been really good at using her litter tray but last 2 days as I've been getting ready for work, she has come into my bedroom and wee'd on day 1 and today done a stinky loose pooConfused

I'm thinking she is angry as we have been away for last 2 wknds and my sister has been coming round to feed her. Or is she on heat? Or just hitting puberty?

How do I stop this?Shock

Firstly, you need to wash whatever had wee/poo on at 90 degrees and with a biological washing powder, twice. Otherwise you won't get rid of the smell, as cats pick up on much finer traces than we do, this includes the duvet. If a mattress was affected, I'm afraid you can only try and get it out with specialised enzyme cleaner for cat wee, or replace if the problem persists.
Secondly, cats do this when they're upset about something. This may well be because you've been away, but another thing to look at would be the state of her litter box(es). Are they emptied/scooped on a regular basis? When have you last actually washed them out etc.? Are there any other pets (cats) in the household?
At 6 months old she may well become sexually mature, but that doesn't usually include inappropriate bowel movements etc. ;) Either way, if she's over 2 kg in weight get her spayed ASAP.

Thanks, she did it on the carpet, where she had been scratching up the carpet. I wondered if she was angry that I told her off for pulling up the carpet. Will def get scrubbing again this evening.
Her litter tray is cleaned regularly, though she often goes outside. We let her out in the evening to play in the garden...

I'd get her an additional tray for your bedroom - if only for the interim. She may be edgy about doing her duty and want to do it in a 'safe place' (which your bedroom would represent.) It would only be cheap and it's always handy, anyway, to have a clean spare in the cupboard.

Excellent idea. I have a spare. Maybe it's because I lock her in the living room at night (have done since I got her) and she's protesting now?!
