PicklePig isn't well. :(

My lovely idiot cat pickle pig (pic attached just to show off his amazing handsomeness) isn't well. Nothing specific, he's just very quiet, sleeping a lot, he hasn't eaten, not sure if he's drunk anything.
His nose is dry (usually wet, he headbutts us & covers us in 'cat juice'), his coat looks dull, his eyes are dull.
I'm very worried. He was ok yesterday but a bit quiet the day before.
He's 10, I keep thinking of things like tumours & other hideous things.
Just wanted a hand hold I suppose. I've booked a vets appointment for 4pm.

Oh Dear - poor PicklePig. Fingers crossed that he's just acquired a wee temporary problem but good luck at the vet's this afternoon. Let us know how he gets on.

Thank you ladies. He's curled up on the rug looking very sorry for himself. I've tried to cuddle him but he just struggles & wants to get down. They don't like attention when they feel rough do they?
Poor old PP. I hope he's ok.

Back from the vets. His temperature is fine & the vet can't feel any lumps or bumps. His third eyelids are across a bit so he's definitely run down.
The vet thinks he might have eaten a mouse or something that's disagreed with him.
He's had an anti inflammatory and antibiotic injection & I've got antibiotic tablets to give him twice a day for a week. That'll be fun!
As soon as I got home Pickle zoomed outside & over the back fence. I don't think I'm very popular at the moment!

Wait until you've had to give him 14 tablets - you'd be really persona non grata then! (It sounds like a job for DH to me.)

Better news, though.

apparently they're meat flavoured tablets & he should eat them like Dreamies. Yeah. Right.
We employ the "2 people plus a bath towel" method to get tablets down him. He sort of implodes though, his head disappears into his body!

Pleased to hear it was nothing too serious! Completely understand about the worrying though, I'm the same with mine. MCat was in a grumpy mood the last couple of days, I wanted to take him to the vet, DH persuaded me to wait. He's his usual self now. Perhaps they get headaches/feel a bit rough for no particular reason, just like us humans?

I'm sure they do. The vet definitely thinks I'm over-protective. But I don't care. He's my baby!

It's better to be told its nothing serious than to wait and have a seriously ill cat.

He is amazingly handsome.

How's he been doing today?

He seems fine. Not thrilled about the tablets. He won't eat them so I have to do the towel trick. But I give him Whiskas treats afterwards so he puts up with it.
He seems back to normal. I hope it continues.
