Cat won't eat Aldi's cat food!

Went to Aldi's yesterday and bought a big box of their dry cat food. Cat normally has Purina Gocat and is quite happy with it. The brand from Aldi's is Vitacat. Should I persevere or is this just crap..? Had to give at some of my own dinner tonight ( liver ) as felt so guilty.

I fees a mixture of Aldi, Felix, Wilkos and anything else that's on offer. Cat will NOT touch any type of beef food though, he looks almost green when I put it down! Grin

Mine won't touch vitacat wet pouches, but happily eat vitacat select wet pouches! I've tried them (3) on all the lidl dry and they won't touch any of it. I get burgess now from pet shop, it's a big bag and works out ok cost wise.

OP, it's good that you're trying other brands because Go-Cat can cause some really bad problems with their pee-pipes, especially if male. It causes cystitis, which cause crystals to form in said pee-pipes, leading to kidney failure.

Try Applaws, 80% meat, no cereals. you can buy it fairly cheaply online on Zooplus. Less waste, and they eat less because they're getting the correct amount of animal protein.

As a wet food, mine go mental for Butchers Classic, cheap as chips, no cereals/crap that cats don't need and available at most supermarkets. (Not to be confused with the similarly named Butchers Choice, that's for dogs.)

DH fed MCat Go-Cat before we moved in together, and the difference in his coat after changing him to a better quality food was amazing. Shiny, silky and less moulting.

You can persevere but you are probably wasting your time. I have a fussy bugger too who will not eat anything else than Purina, and only if it is meat based - not fish. Hmm

I blame the lovely old lady next door who serves 24/7 luxury meals (meat from the butcher!) to a couple neighborhood cats, including mine "because she is so cute and affectionate". I bet she is..!
