I might love my cat too much.

We got her half way through our second round of IVF, which failed.
She has been such a comfort to both of us. We make such a huge fuss of her. We both have said that we actually love her.

Last week she had an injury that involved the emergency vet! We were both distraught.

Do we love her too much? Do we need to get a grip?

What a handsome boy pestocat is!

The real chaircat is currently asleep on top of my feet, pinning me into position. I'm very uncomfortable but I will not move!

I love her so much, she's like my child. I talk about her so much that people get confused that she's a real toddler.

As a qualified professional it is not possible to love cats too much. I am totally smitten by mine. They have provide comfort through the dark days of my Ex leaving, him and his alcoholic GF verbally abusing DD and so much more.
They are supreme beings who now the weather is warm sit like the pair of lions they are one on each gate post.

Lonecatwithkitten · 23/04/2014 21:54

Chaircat I have a patient with a very similar name to yours!

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 25/04/2014 17:39

My big butch DH regularly tells the kitten he loves him Grin

It's quite sweet really.

Scarletohello · 26/04/2014 22:02

Love my lovely puss so much!

My favourite time is in the morning when he comes in my bed to say hello, does that kneading thing and purrs so loud. I know all he wants is his breakfast but I don't care, it's great to get the cat love and I'll take whatever I can get! :)

Pipbin · 26/04/2014 22:10

I know, I don't care that its 5.30. I love being woken up by being stood on by my baby cat.

Poor little lamb had an abscess on her cheek which had to be drained on Friday. She has got her cheek shaved. Poor love, and the RSPCA man is coming tomorrow to check that we are looking after her OK!

She found a feather in the garden today and brought it in to show us. We were in different rooms when she came in so she put it in the hall and meowed until we came to look.

I love her so very much.

A feather! That's so sweet ( actually bloody lucky it wasn't a bird or a mouse....)

Pipbin · 26/04/2014 22:15

She brings in lots of feathers, but no actual birds yet.
We have a lot of trees in our garden and a couple of pigeons. She stalks them down the garden but is too frightened to pounce. They fly off and she picks up the feathers they leave behind.

You think.

I've lived in many gardens with loads of pigeons and it's not my experience that they go around leaving feathers everywhere. I'd reckon those were trophies. (Sorry.)

Cataline · 26/04/2014 22:29

I love the sound of your cat Pipbin! My little tortie cutie is our youngest cat baby. She spends her evenings snuggled up, on me with her head tucked under my chin, purring loudly and dribbling. I do love her so very much! Just took this pic of her...

Pipbin · 26/04/2014 22:36

I was with her when she found this latest feather, (I then went back indoors and she brought it in later). It was on the grass in the garden. No ex bird to be seen.

Not that I'm saying she wouldn't do that of course, but I know this one was found. I'm not a disillusioned parent.

Maybe it was 'one she'd made earlier' ? It's just that that's trophy presentation behaviour, Pipbin.

cozietoesie · 26/04/2014 22:44

Let's be kind and conjecture that the pigeon got away and that that feather was all her outstretched paw connected with in the process.

Lovely thread.

YANBU. I adore my little lass. I even don't mind being persistently tapped on the face at 3am to play throw and fetch with her toy mouse - I do it to make her happy despite getting up for work at 7am Blush

Pipbin · 26/04/2014 23:00

She hadn't been outside for 24 hours. We had kept her in until we knew that her cheek was healed.

(I just had to take one look at that photo of her - bluebells or no bluebells, that's a huntress.)

Pipbin · 26/04/2014 23:19

I'm not going to say that she has never hunted but she and I were in the garden together when she found the feather sat in the middle of the lawn. I went in and soon after she brought the feather in. I'm sure she killed stuff in the past, but not today.

cozietoesie · 26/04/2014 23:21

She's certainly a very pretty girl.

Pipbin · 26/04/2014 23:34

She is beautiful.
