I've posted before about his always squitty poos. But now I'm a bit concerned about him. I am planning vet later btw but I'm working until two.
He is a proper ginger bastard cat, usually miaows incessantly and likes his food.
Today he is looking like he is miaowing a bit but hardly any noise comes out. He has drool on the rt side of his mouth and not eating muchSad even though he has fish flavour Iams atm which is a favourite.

I suspect he has a dental problem but would that make him less noisy too? He's about 15Sad

I'd guess that unless his whole mouth was truly horrible, the vet made a judgement on whether any 'on the margin' teeth would be likely to need extraction in a year or two - which would have involved another GA when he was an elderly cat.

I've got quite a few cats with no teeth at all. They all seem to manage fine and even crunch biscuits with their gums.

That's good to know - I guess the gums harden up over a month or two when there are no teeth to take the strain.

And look on the bright side, OP. No more big dental bills from the vet!

At least he isn't in pain now, I had loads of teeth out when I had my brace & it's not as bad as you think.

He's happy.

Miaowing is getting louder, he has eaten and harassed me for more.

DH said - he seems better, he just tried to trip me up like usual Grin
Post op checkup on Thursday. Instructed soft food only for three days.

I am hoping to get him back on biscuits if he can manage them, but he was always fussy with food and the wet stuff is so smelly.

You'll have read what TCN said about her cats eating dried. His gums will likely be tender for a few days but once the vet has checked his mouth at the post op you might get the All Clear to offer him dry as well as wet - then it's up to him.

Good luck to him. He must be feeling so much better.
