8 years ago I got two pedigree rescue cats, brothers. At first they got along fine, but then cat A started chasing cat B away, attacking him. Cat B stayed away for longer and longer, until I found out that a neighbour woman was looking after him. We talked about this, she told me how it had taken her hours to entice him inside the house, as he was so timid.
Finally, I decided to give her cat B, and she was very happy. She went on and on about how "special" he is because of being a pedigree.
The neighbour has called me many times during the years, fretting about cat A, who is still living with me. He's naturally slim, and a real pest, roaming the neighbourhood and getting into fights, stealing food etc. I've always been very polite and tried to explain to the neighbour that cat A is a difficult creature with a very wild side to him. I've told her over and over that he is not being neglected, he gets his roast chicken and ham, plus dry food every day. As much as he likes.
During the winter months, he's been indoors every night, but as soon as the weather got warmer, he stayed away for one night. This evening the woman called me and wanted to come over, but I said no. She hung up, and was at the door five minutes later. She asked me if I love my cat, she asked me if I still want him?! She said he is always hungry, always outside. Really? After a whole winter spent mostly inside? Anyway, I lost my temper and asked her to leave. I have a feeling that she's fishing for another cat, perhaps to give to a friend? She seems so utterly impressed by the fact that they are Bengals. I've had enough of her, but I can't stop my cat from going out or from roaming. What, if anything, can she do to me? Can she report me? Can I report her? I'm fuming. Sorry this is so long. I have another thread about a neighbour, but it's not the same woman. And I absolutely adore my cat.
