Dribbly cat!

My cat has an unfortunate habit of dribbling everywhere whenever he gets stroked. It's horrible and it's putting me off fussing him. His teeth seem fine and he eats biscuits without a problem and this is the only time he does it. Can I do anything to stop it?

I cat dribbles when she's happy.

I don't think there is anything you can do to stop it. It is just some cats' reaction to being stroked. I've a feeling I read somewhere that they feel as though they are kittens again being petted by their mum and they are salivating as they are subconsciously expecting mum's milk - or something like that. Or I might have dreamt that explanation:)

You could put an old towel on your knee if that's where you stroke him. Or just keep tissues to hand.

Thanks for advice, I now have a dribble tissue handy when we have fusses! Grin
