only eats Whiskas ,, wont touch the gravy stuff, its driving me mad.. A war of attrition, How can I get him to eat the ruddy food?

Mind you hes not thin, that cat , is the jelly all sugar do you think?

He's a rescue cat ,8 yrs old never used to be fussy .. I think i've spoilt him .. I keep telling him he'll go back if he dont behave , but he just looks at me .

Hes also got no fangs (he didn't have bottom ones when we got him and since then has lost the top two fighting i think , hes a real outdoor country cat , but a neutered tom ) The vet says the tooth loss probably due to bad health as a kitten ( was only a year or so old when we had him . other wuse hes in good health and has his other teeth and can chew and crunch ( given he likes the odd Dreamie and seeing the mouse remains we find)

Anyone here with any advice or good knowledge ? he wont starve like i said, but i just cant keep affording to chuck food away

When I was hospitalised, recently, PB was being..........looked after by DBro. He ate what he was given. I reckon I've been played, Big Time.

Is he getting spoiled with the finest food and treats by a well meaning neighbour?! Grin

Maybe try a bit of Harringtons dry food. It's available in supermarkets and has a decent nutritional breakdown. Mine loves the chicken flavour. The small pack is usually around £1:

The jelly contains all the nutrients kitty needs to survive, though dry food should always be offered too as cats are natural grazers. My princess is only 1, purfect health and purfect teeth, she rarely eats the meat at all. I swapped her over to felix soups, absolutely loves them and you get 6 sachets for £1.50 at tesco. Most brands do a soup variant now as alot of cats prefer just jelly. If you can sneak abit of water in too all the better, most cats don't get anywhere near the right amount of water as they hate drinking it from a bowl. In the wild, still water can be stagnant and poisonous, fountain water or the tap/shower (if they're brave enough) is much preferred. Some cats will even push their water bowl around in an effort to simulate moving water. Cuties.

My rescue cat only eats Felix. Otherwise he licks the jelly off and leaves the meat chunks. Felix is more shredded meat and he loves it.
