What do Felix put in As Good As It Looks?

I have spent a fortune on various super-duper human-standard-meat European cat foods from zooplus, but my 2 don't eat any of them as enthusiastically as AGAIL (& some they won't eat at all)

My two absolutely love it, the only other wet food we've tried so far has been Butcher's Classic in tins, they wouldn't so much as touch it. W've only had them two months so far, but I have been thinking about trying better quality alternatives. So, would love to hear what other cats who love Felix have liked.

Didokitty suddenly changed from eating everything to being really fussy and will now only eat James Wellbeloved kibbles. I don't really mind as they smell a lot les than wet food and make less mess. (Selfish cat mummy!)

Whiskas "oh so meaty" used to be a favourite of old cat and also Gourmet Perle stuff.

I have boxes of mixed food - Seniorboy is a fussy blighter and with one exception won't use anything for more than a couple of days. So I feed the stuff into the routine at random. I haven't tried Felix though.

(The exception is the Co-op own brand Gourmet Chicken in Gravy. That is used for every tea and has gone down well every night for well over a year - Thank Goodness because I need to know he'll eat something to get his meds into him.)

My two love James Welbeloved dry food too, we started them on Go-Kat, realised it was not very nutritious and switched to Iams, which they didn't like at all, they love the JW though, when I first put it down they ate as though they hadn't been fed for weeks. They have one pouch of Felix each a day and JW dry the rest of the time. Their poos smell awful though. I have wondered about dropping the pouches, but they do love them.

Sparkling Cat only eats Felix AGAIL. i have to google where it's on offer.

I'll maybe try a pouch. Does it have good nutritional values?

which is a bit lower on the protein levels than the Co-op one at 9%. Still - if it gets him to eat, that's something.

A single box of 12 was £3 at Morrisons last week & zooplus do 24 for £6.49. It doesn't smell disgusting, & poos don't either. Worth giving it a try for your picky one, cozie

There's not as much specified meat as in the European brands (eg Bozita Chicken & Turkey has "chicken (85% in chunks), turkey (7.2% in chunks), beef, pork, calcium carbonate, yeast")

but there's no cereal filler either. Sugar, though...??? Maybe that's the magic ingredient!

Thanks cozie I have a PAH nearby. The best deal I found (a few weeks ago) were when Countrywide were selling 44 pouches for £11.99. i should have stocked up.

Sparkling Cat doesn't seem to drink much water-I imagine it's down to the food.

I agree it smells fine. the Whiskas pouches are so smelly-she won't touch them either.

Felix is one of the recommended brands on there & also one of the cheapest. They helpfully give you a per-kilo price for everything & some of them are over £10 per kilo - Felix & Bozita both only £2.70.

In a moment of madness, I bought Seniorboy some Encore a few weeks back - and he liked one of the flavours very much. So he should. I reckon that's one of your 'over £10 a kilo' ones. I think I'll try Felix to see if he'll eat it.

Dear Goodness - I just costed it properly. The cat eats better than I do!

I am going to try the Coop stuff for Sparkling cat. She is taking the mickey with the Felix.

according to mysupermarket it's 2 for £6 at Tesco & Sainsburys atm

If she likes it (it's in a black pouch which they sell singly) then buy it subsequently in multiples of 3. (They frequently have an offer of 3 for a £ and nobody seems to tell the Head Office computer when the offer stops - or maybe it's a near permanent offer and my Co-op forgets to advertise.)

They also do an own brand Gourmet salmon in jelly (black pouch again) but I haven't tried that because Seniorboy won't eat fishy flavour food.

It certainly is on offer there (just looked) and I've got a delivery on Thursday. Hmm.

The Sainsbury's deal (the one I looked at) lasts until 1st January. Phew.

I will have a mooch in the coop cozie, I can't believe she will only eat Felix-I think she's being difficult.

I opened a tin of sweetcorn the other day and she came running down the stairs all excited. So she has eaten tins. I got her a tin once, and she ate the first bit from the top of the open/fresh can-then rejected any further meals from it.

I was making the Foxes cat food sandwiches the other day with some 39p stuff from Wilko-I should have offered her some!
