Would I be mad to have a Christmas tree this year, have 2,5 month old kittens who climb, eat and destroy everything in their path!

Actually.

I just say NO to them.

On a slightly more serious note..we had to rescue one of ours who was choking on an xmas decoration he had swiped from the tree..a sort of rolled foile thing. He was fine but since then we have been very careful to hang on chokables!

How we solved the cat and Christmas tree problem was to have a rooted tree in the biggest pot we could find. We put it outside, near a window, and fed outdoor LED lights through it and round the tree. Unbreakable decorations were (given the sound they make when dropped!) painted ping pong balls! Worked great with a toddler too.

Now have two trees in pots, one now about 17 years old, and both are about 5-6' high. No doubt they will be decorated as usual and sooner or later I'll have to extract a Moonkitten from it.

We must be mad but we're getting a kitten on Christmas Eve. Would we be stupid to have a tree this year?

Little cat had a whale of a time last Christmas climbing up the inside if the tree and then swiping at you through the branches as you walked past. I did end up with quite a few baubles on the floor not the tree but it was fun to watch her. Just try and avoid tinsel as it can be a bit of a choking hazard for them.

I have also been pondering this one as I think Didokitty will go bonkers at the sight of a decorated Christmas tree.

However, I still need one (and small granddaughter coming for Christmas so it's important) so will leave off the lights, glass baubles and the hand painted eggs lovingly brought back from Salzburg 10 years ago and still amazingly intact.
