we got a lovely 16 week old kitten and her daddy (3) from the local cat rescue on Monday, just need a bit of advice from the lovely cat family on mumsnet :) both are extremely elusive, I know where they are hiding and they only seem to come out to feed or use litter tray whilst we are out on school runs or in bed, is it best to just leave them in their hiding place, entice them out or physically get them out, they were in the rescue centre for approx. 8 weeks, is it just a case of leaving them too it and eventually they will get used to us and their new environment, thank you in advance of your advice

Sorry, no idea but hope you get some good advice.

Are they really father and daughter? How do you know?

Leave them where they are - my rescue cats spent a fortnight under the bath, coming out at night to eat and use the litter tray! It will take them a while to feel comfortable in their new environment and forcibly pulling them out could actually upset them more and make the process take longer. You could try Feliway - can't do a link but you can google it - lots of people swear by it to help cats feel at home. Good luck!
