cozietoesie, quick bit of advice, please?

My cats are booked into a boarding kennel/cattery for next week (from Friday) but I've discovered a couple of actual catteries not much further away which do sound nicer.

I've paid a £10 deposit, but I could probably cancel & not lose any more than that if either of the catteries have space.

Would you recommend doing that? Are dedicated catteries really much nicer? Also, is it better to take the litter they're used to if it's not bog standard stuff? (I was planning to take their own food anyway)

My personal feeling is that kennels and Catteries are run by dog people who take in cats and Catteries are run by cat people. My precious cats go to a cattery and the dog goes to a different kennel (who have a cattery).
But then my cats rule my world.

thank you, Lonecat - it was your post on marzipanned's "feeling worried" thread that made me rethink.

I was able to book them into one of the catteries, which looks really nice on their website, so I've cancelled the kennel/cattery.

The cattery offers grooming too - they do sound like cat people. (They also board small furries )
