The litter tray

Cat seems ravenous but not eating?

My 2 year old cat seems to be really hungry, hes chasing me around the kitchen begging to be fed, even standing on top of the fridge and trying to snatch food as I take it out.

He has his normal food though that he normally eats but hes not touching it - he normally has dry biscuits available all day and water and then I feed him a pouch of wet cat food twice a day, once in the morning and then again at night.

Any ideas why hes not eating? My first thought was a problem with his teeth but I have had a look in his mouth and although I arent a vet they seem fine to me. Hes wormed regularly too.

Will be taking him to the vets if he doesnt start eating by tomorrow but wondered if anybody knew what it might be?

If he's hungry but won't touch his food, I'd be guessing some sort of physical reason why he can't eat. (Teeth (even though you can't see anything obvious) or some sort of obstruction.) The vet tomorrow is a good idea.

Does he go outside?

Yes he does go outside usually mid afternoon and comes back in just after dark, do you think he may haveeaten something he shouldnt? Will get an appointment with the vet to take a look.

I think it's.... possible. I take it he's not eating any treats you get out of the fridge? So maybe a bone or something has got stuck in his gullet or something like that. Just a thought.

Is he drinking his water and using his tray OK as far as you can see?

Hes drinking ok yes, he nevers drinks out of his bowl and prefers the tap Smile

He seems not himself to be honest - he is usually very laid back and can normally find him asleep in DDs pram but hes a bit 'jumpy' and seems to be running around a lot and not really settling. Will definitely take him to the vets.

Thank you for your help Smile
