Someone should make cat pants

I am so sick of seeing my cat's bumhole, I would gladly hand over stupid amounts of money as long as they can assure me the cat will keep them on.

For you Hugo.

hugoagogo · 10/09/2013 18:55

Why would anyone want one of them things? [baffled]

There is a whole shop full of similar tat in York; sil went mad for it. Grin Still she has ragdolls so I suppose a cat's bumhole is a novelty for her. Envy

I was round at my friend's yesterday and her cat came in with a load of dangleberries hanging from the fur round it's bumhole. Sad

I love a good tat shop. Grin

DH would be glad of pants for the Lion. He is known to just crap in the middle of the kitchen/living room/toilet floor Hmm

Sparklingbrook · 10/09/2013 19:03

Genius

BubbleBathFoam · 10/09/2013 19:13

I'm in hysterics here. I've just burst in to a fit of laughter. The stuff some people come up with to sell - tickles me.

hugoagogo · 10/09/2013 19:14

those pants look ever so slightly too big for that kitty. Grin

You need a cat with a fluffy bum hugo. I can't see his bumhole at all. The other one on the other hand ...

Sparklingbrook · 10/09/2013 19:18

This is more what you are after hugo.

hugoagogo · 10/09/2013 19:24

sparkling gets the banana Smile

kiri I think that's the problem; until fairly recently we had a lovely fluffy cat, so I am just not used to being presented with that delightful sight multiple times a day.

Ooh I quite like the idea of the piddle pants. I'm not sure my kittens would be too pleased about wearing them though!

Yes, the difference between fluffy and nonfluffy bumholes is rather, erm, stark isn't it?

DontCallMeBaby · 11/09/2013 17:42

Neither of my cats is fluffy, and one of them has a bicoloured bumhole - pink and brown. He never looks clean. And every now and then, he's not. Ugh.

Harrods used to sell dog nappies...not sure if they did/do cat ones and no! I didn't buy them for my dog at the time!

FreshLeticia · 13/09/2013 17:45

Just wondering why Pascha's DH craps on the kitchen floor.......

Ireallymustbemad · 13/09/2013 18:36

I'd love cat pants for 13yo girlcat who can't be bothered to go outside when it is raining so does it wherever she fancies instead....
Dry day, no problem but rain well why should she?! Grrr.
(Have had it confirmed there is nothing wrong with her by vet btw)

thecatneuterer · 13/09/2013 19:49

Ireallymustbemad do you have a tray inside?

GemmaTeller · 13/09/2013 19:56

Grin at Piddle Pants

I would have shredded arms and face if I tried to get kittencat in them!

NettoSuperstar · 13/09/2013 19:56

Awwww, I currently have six cats, so see lots of cats bums.
Less than on here though..............Grin

Ireallymustbemad · 13/09/2013 21:12

Thecatneuterer - most of the time we have a litter tray directly outside the cat flap.
We don't have a good place for it inside so it has to go in the kitchen which is less than pleasant, so we avoid when we don't have to. Also when it is inside both cats do everything in it rather than bother going outside. We usually end up relenting in the winter for a few months but it is rather unpleasant to have a kitchen that smells of cat litter and they always seem to poo when i'm cooking dinner or we're eating!

This has only been an issue for the last couple of years. For the first 10 years they never had a tray inside or had accidents. We are sure it is only girlcat that does this, boy cat will go indoors if there is a litter tray but otherwise go outdoors without a problem.

Any tips very welcome Smile

thecatneuterer · 13/09/2013 21:59

I know it's a pain, but it's basically a choice between a tray inside, even if they have a cat flap, or occasional poo and pee on the floor. There are sometimes when cats really don't want to go outside - maybe it's raining, or the ground is frozen, or next door's fierce tom is lurking around, or they're just feeling unwell and can't face the thought of going out, and it generally becomes more of an issue the older cats get.

A tray just outside the flap (I take it it's covered) should get round some of those issues, but sometimes they just don't want to go out - as you've discovered!

If you have a covered tray it's better, and wood based pellets don't smell at all. Of course having a shit when you're cooking is never great - but you can just hoick it out and flush it down the loo so it should only be there for a minute or so - and those odour neutralising sprays work really well.

Ireallymustbemad · 13/09/2013 23:53

Thanks for that.

I'll try the wood based pellets, we have always used catsan in the past. We did try another one, I forget which, but they didn't like it. I know it wasn't the wood based pellets though so will give them another go.

Time to put the tray inside again, I think. Yes I do always get the poo out as soon as it's done but the smell still seems to linger. We go through lots of scented candles here, I even make them myself from time to time!

Thanks again for your time Smile
