For relatively cheap tinned stuff Butcher's Classic seems to be best. And vets recommend it and apparently it's good for avoiding gum problems. If money is no object then Applaws tins or really any of the posh little tins seem to go down well.

for my fussy arses? Either Asda or Sainsbury's own brand.

I've tried them on everything, starting with the branded stuff (assuming it was better for them) and tried them on various dried foods but they have only settled on Asda/Sainsburys (which makes me wonder if it's actually the same manufacturer)

Zooplus sells loads of premium cat food online if you don't mind buying in bulk.

Butcher's doesn't have any added sugar or cereals, making it a good cheap choice. We always have some just in case I don't order from Zooplus in time, but it seems very heavy on jelly and gives our cats dreadful wind!

Just make sure whatever you buy is a complete food - it's not always easy to tell with the tiny posh tins but all food will be labelled complete or complimentary somewhere on the tin.

Go for the highest meat content you can find, without grains.

My cat is fussy and he varies between Whiskas "oh so meaty" but it has to be gravy not jelly.
If he gets fed up of that he likes Felix "as good as it looks" in jelly.
But.. I think his fav is Tescos own cat food and it is good value for money in my opinion. The Whiskas and Felix are expensive.

Seniorboy is fussy and likes his food varied from day to day/week to week so I generally have about 8 or 9 partially opened boxes of different brands in the house. (His food takes up more of the kitchen pound for pound than the rest of the family.)

He also gets some cold meat or similar at lunchtime - only at one meal a day as a treat because of the nutritional content.

His main foible though is that he doesn't like fishy flavoured food. I'd, from experience, keep an eye on yours and if you're going to buy multipacks for the better price, don't go for one that's only fish or only meat. Just in case.

My main recommendation would be to keep the amounts fairly modest and go instead (if you can, work permitting) for a frequent turnover. They like it fresh.

Another vote for Butchers classic, no cereal and higher protein content than than whiskas or felix
Added benefit that their poo doesnt stink the house out like it does if they have whiskas.
