i have 2 cats. one lovely old girl and one nutty one. the nutty one has pushed me to my limits over the years but i put up with her as she is very sweet.
the issues we have are the following:

  1. cat hunts alot. we often don't go a day without her bringing something home. alive. which she then proceeds to tear the house down chasing it about. annoying but that's cats.
then about once a week she will bring home parts of an animal. legs, ears, and internal organs. usually from a rabbit. today i came home from work to find a rabbit head minus the eyes, in the next room was some entrails and kidneys. there was blood marks on the floors and walls. its not unusal to find rabbits legs/ organs under the sofa etc. some scenes we find are like a horror film. sometimes some of the body parts look like they have been dead for ages. eg maggots etc. so god knows where they come from. some are fresh.

  2. she howls/wails alot. mainly at night. she walks uo and down the hall way doing this weird wailing noise. wakes us and the babies up. she isn't doing it at
other cats or anything. just walking up and down howling.

i go thru stages of shutting her in/out or only giving access to certain rooms but its hard as have another cat who i like to give a free reign to. my dh thinks nutty cat should just live outdoors but i can't do that to her as she loves coming in and snuggles up alot of the time.
she hunts/brings in animals day or night. she is tiny as well. no idea how she does it. she is often sick too bringing up animal parts and guts.

i think she belongs in a zoo! can anyone help or give ideas? at the end of tether after finding entrails spread across my hall way

Well, keep her in at night to reduce predation, get a cat bib off amazon and if she's still friends with you after that lock her in a room overnight so you can't hear her wailing.

Some cats just like the sound of their own voices.

Unless she's anxious and would rather be in the bedroom with you.

Mine wails every few months as sge thinks she's on heat - apparently it can happen when they screw the operation up.

I have no suggestions for dealing with her though but it sounds tough.
