Seniorboy has just done projectile vomiting.....

Everything covered - my handbag (on the floor) the antique war rug in the upper hall - everything. It's all cleared up and cleaned/disinfected now but I'm remembering that projectile vomiting was the first sign that Twoago's kidneys were on the out - and Seniorboy is 18 and on NSAIDs.

Careful watching from now on I guess.

PS - I do know that his last bloods and urine analysis were only - what - a month ago and were fine. That helps my mind.

Yes, it's making a lot of us out of sorts.

Let's just wait for him to poo.

hellymelly · 28/07/2013 22:10

Does your vet use homoeopathy? (mine does)as maybe he could have something to help him poo, if that is what he needs, without the stress of a big physical exam? The bloods being good a month ago is very positive, as kidney function IME tends to go downhill over time rather than suddenly deteriorating. Is he drinking enough?

cozietoesie · 28/07/2013 22:19

If I recall, the practice has people who are trained in several complementary therapy regimes - it's just never been suggested for Seniorboy.

I think he's drinking enough - he has wet food, fresh water around and there are those two large pees. The main trouble is that he likes to be around me so that although there are cool (ish) floors in the house, he want to be on my lap - or very close by. Aargh.

Sorry you are still worried about Seniorboy, cozie. Is he eating all right? I hope he picks up tomorrow.

cozietoesie · 28/07/2013 22:27

He's just had some Gourmet chicken solitaire in white sauce. Ruddy cat eats better than I do!

What a lucky boy Smile. Hopefully, it's a good sign that he's eating.

ZebraOwl · 29/07/2013 07:36

Poor Seniorboy... I very much hope it's "just" a reaction to the heat & that he perks up soon.

RightsaidFreud · 29/07/2013 09:43

Just seen this thread, I do hope Seniorboy is feeling is little better Cozie, keep us updated!

cozietoesie · 29/07/2013 12:50

Well we had success before lunch. One big pee and two poos (one a very respectable size indeed.) He's perkier and just noshing on a ham slice for lunch.

I gave him a little extra lactulose with his breakfast but I think the real thing is that the temperature has now gone down by about 5 degrees. He may be a cat, and an oriental breed at that, but I guess that his blood can thicken just like humans'.

Thanks for all the good wishes, folks.

Smile

I thought poo obsession disappeared once you'd potty trained your children :o

Glad he's perked up :)

VenusSurprising · 29/07/2013 23:46

Oh good, glad he's perked up.
My 1 yo didn't do a poo one day when it was very hot, and was very sleepy too. She's fine now the temps are down again- not very hungry though.
18 is a great age cozietoesie - he sounds lovely!
