Will our cats cope with cat flap extenders through a wall?

Hello - we're having work done on our house, including a new kitchen wall, which will result in our cats having to go in and out through the new wall, rather than through a door. It's for aesthetic and practical reasons - a cat flap wouldn't work in the new door design. However...we've having a mild wobble...will our felines use it?!

The wall will be about 5 extenders wide, eg, approx 35cm (www.sureflap.co.uk/products/details/3-tunnel-extender). Anyone's cats happy to do this? Did you have to modify the extenders in any way? Tonight, we're semi-seriously pondering on putting Velcro in, to give them some purchase.

Any experience gratefully received. New architectural / wall designs are not an option, it's all about making the cat flap as easy to use as possible at this stage =)

Ours go through a wall and they're fine with it. There's a magnetic flap on the inside but just a hole in the wall on the outside. We did once wonder if it was scary for them to go out as they couldn't easily see if the coast was clear but they seem fine. The desire to go out for birds/come in for cuddles and food was too much got them.

I'm worried about our dimmer, portlier cat getting beached in the middle! We actually measured him tonight post this post, and he's about 85cm long, so he should get through OK, with something on the outside to help get him in. Suspect you're absolutely right about the desire to get out and in overtaking the logistics. Right. The wall's going up Wednesday, so I will report back. Thank you.
