Hello friendly folk of the Litter Tray!

After much consideration, today I have picked up my first ever cats! They are 8 week old girls who we have named Jelly and Boo. I've just got home with them, they cried the whole way in the car :( I've been researching lots and lots online for ages but now that they're here I feel a bit overwhelmed! What should I do for them tonight?? I've blocked off the kitchen for now so they will be in there for a while. DS is at his dads til tomorrow night which is good.

Also, I'm sooooooooo happy!

Think I will ditch the liners for now, and wait and see which litter tray they go for!! I am in no doubt whatsoever that I am simply their servants hahaha! Right: think i've mastered putting a photo on my profile...

UPDATE. Discovered Jelly is actually a boy.... and Boo has been renamed Princess Holly.

I am broke- they are so freaking expensive- and exhausted from playing with them all night long. BUT HOPELESSLY IN LOVE!

Ooh better get him done soon as he's ready, or two become 6 very easily Wink

Down to the vet at the earliest opportunity as above. (Oneago's litter brother fathered a litter at under 5 months to the consternation of the breeder!)

Oh - and check your profile settings to see that you've clicked 'Finish' or whatever and made pics public. We need to view the miscreants.Smile

Congratulations on your new kittens, mirrorpants. We got our first kitten a couple of months ago and we are in lurve. Kissing the top of his furry head is one of my favourite things ever. Grin

Love the names, too.

I was a bit hysterical yesterday- terrified of them having babies, i've rang all the vets I can find online and nobody will do earlier than 5 months. What shall I do? Really, really, realllllllllllly don't want a litter. Keeping them apart in my tiny house from 4 months is possible (one upstairs one down) but seems horrible and cruel :-( HELP!

5 months? Oh dear.

I assume that's so they develop properly, I wonder if one of the local rescues could advise you on a vets that would do the male as soon as he's "dropped".

Our vets said if they can see them they can castrate them but they like to wait until 6 months.
