No livestream yet, but there will be shortly.

Mum is white with different coloured eyes, the kittens are 2 boys and a girl.

Thanks Cosie Smile

MumnGran · 01/06/2013 23:15

oops ...cozie

cozietoesie · 02/06/2013 08:45

I don't know if this was coincidence but I had kittencam on and Kari was chirping away very loudly as she tried to find something to wash (that she hadn't just washed 5 minutes before.) Seniorboy, who is down in the bed fast asleep, started making chirrupping noises. I wonder whether her noises have sparked some memory in his elder brain?

MumnGran · 02/06/2013 10:30

Two of my babies went together, to my daughter, and the boy never noticed that he didn't have his actual Mum anymore.... seven years later his sister still pins him down for a wash, paying very particular attention to the insides of his ears. She also comes running if he shouts (there's that Siamese thing again) ...and always looks really miffed to discover that he's not actually in any trouble that needs her to act as protector!!

He has always curled up against her tummy to sleep and nuzzles occasionally, despite the lack of any milk bar, although never tried to suckle as such.

They were 14 weeks old before they left Mum, so he certainly wasn't taken away too young!! just a permanent kid, I guess!!

I simply couldn't breed kittens - I would find it too, too difficult to give them away to the big wide world.

In the Critter Room, apparently, Foster Dad John - who doesn't normally play favourites, being a foster and all - is finding it very difficult to resist the blandishments of the little snowshoe girl. We'll have to see.

Oh they are so sweet. Ive been watching them for about 20 mins, I wanted to see the white ones face!

MumnGran · 02/06/2013 12:52

It is hard to do it responsibly, and I stopped because prevalent practices in the breeding world were simply not my idea of real cat love and I really wanted nothing more to do with it..... or the people in it.

I did feel confident about homing as had spent so many years sniffing out idiots when I was re-homing rescues...... and I was (and am) very very picky.

I never had a cat that wasn't a beloved indoor pet, never had more than one litter a year ... and they were all raised in my sitting room, with doting grandmother and aunts watching on, and washing any escapees Smile

Very hard work though if you are going to do it properly, and doing it properly means it is a very expensive hobby!

cozietoesie · 02/06/2013 12:59

Very expensive.

The little girl is washing her own paws. What a star.

Very very expensive Blush

I spent a lot of money on the best of foods, toys, packs to go with the kittens, vet bills, checking for heart defects, neutering at 13 weeks, new cats, then when the kittens left, I was always very very sad, so found a trip to Pets At Home helped, or buying a new breeding cat. Hmm

Everyone (I knew) thought if you breed cats you can make a fortune I proved them wrong.

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 02/06/2013 18:00

Aww so chilled I have to keep the volume down and my cats start looking for kittens!

cozietoesie · 02/06/2013 18:05

Responsible breeders do it for love, Diary, and not for financial gain - which there isn't.

Glad to know someone else's cats are reacting to the noises.

cozietoesie · 02/06/2013 18:07

They're growing and developing so fast that I don't think it will be too long before they're let out into the Big Room - next weekend maybe?

cozietoesie · 02/06/2013 23:45

I think it might even be before that now - they've all suddenly gone turbocharged. Just in the last few hours.

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 04/06/2013 19:01

Oh good they are just waking up!

Horsemad · 04/06/2013 21:43

Such an attentive Mummy Cat Smile

cozietoesie · 04/06/2013 21:59

Hah!

If it moves - wash it.
If it doesn't move - wash it.
If in doubt - wash it!

Those must be the cleanest kittens in existence.

Horsemad · 04/06/2013 22:07

Grin cozie.

Just seen an ad for tv prog on BBC2 - Horizon: The Secret Life of the Cat. Next Thurs.

A must see I should think!

sashh · 06/06/2013 06:58

Grant has a spotty belly, I want a cat with a spotty belly

cozietoesie · 06/06/2013 09:41

Grant has some problems. If it wasn't for him, I reckon the litter would be put in the big room by the weekend.

The good news is that he's likely got a couple of hundred people who'll take him on. All of these kits will find a home.

cozietoesie · 06/06/2013 09:49

PS - He's one heck of a scrapper.

TheWombat · 06/06/2013 09:54

Aw. My head just exploded from the cute.
This will now be a day where nothing productive gets done....

cozietoesie · 07/06/2013 23:17

Kari wakes up - and what does she do?

You guessed it - washing a kitten or three.

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 08/06/2013 08:26
