Hi all, I thought to save confusion ,let alone ploughing through four pages of angst, I would start a new thread to talk about our long lost,now found kitty. Hope you guys don't mind my gushing but I have so many things going on in my head, non kitty folk won't get. Or be sick of me talking about 
Anyway here is tonight's update. Florrie has had diorrehea today 
. The vets feel this is to be expected due to reintroduction of nutrition after starvation, as otherwise she is responding well. DH and DD went to see her at visiting time, and she went loopy with delight! It was the first time DH had seen her since she was found and he according to DD was choked up with how bony she was as she snuggled in to him.
The vet nurse told me they will review her again tomorrow and if her tummy settles, the IV may be able to come out. Then perhaps home for the weekend

Arw dobby so glad lovely Florries home safe and sound, bless her whiskers. I only discovered Florries thread this morning, I'm so happy your reunited 
So glad to hear Florrie's home & Mr Twinkle remembers his manners soon 
Sometimes think it's a shame microchips don't include a tracking device. Although given I apparently have agoraphobic cats I'd mostly be using it to check no-one was being particularly cunning in their attempt to hide in my room at bedtime 
Well I spent most of last night sleeping with a small furry neck collar twinkle slept outside my door and refused any attempts at affection, until about 7.00 when he "allowed" me to give him a scratch under the ears I gave Florrie her medicines and special food whilst he was out, having his morning roam of his territory, so by the time he came back, he was able to eat without the small excitable furry trying to head bump him (she was never blessed with tact, our Florrie )
Heard a commotion earlier and thought they were fighting, twinkle had taken possession of ALL the new toys and was jumping from one to the other- Florrie was watching from a distance. Fingers crossed there will be peace soon

Moral dilemma - last chance for me to take DD out for trip I have promised her all holiday. But we are both torn as also feel with it being Florries first day back we should not leave her alone - head is saying, she is safe and has twinkle for company, heart is saying I should do nothing but kitty watch
We compromised. Went out to a local treat rather than the all day one we had planned. When we got home,we fully expected to be mugged by small furry thing when we walked through door - nothing, not even patter of tiny feet when we called their names - 
instant panic, until we got to their (old) usual chill out spots in the conservatory, where we got met by two very sleepy kittys, both with one eye open and disdainful looks as if to say "what?, we were sleeping as you buggered off, what??"
Safe to say, as aside from demanding food, they have continued to go about their business as if nothing ever happened, things have sttled down
Excellent. I thought that settling down earlyish would likely be the case.
And good that you gave DD a treat. I was thinking compromise because DD (in the way of things) will probably be back to 'Florrie's home again - now what about me and my Mum?')

Oh wow, Celia knows about Florrie! I feel like she has celebrity status now I got Florrie from Lewisham around a year ago, and Lesley, the rehoming lady there, was her foster carer so she was very much hand picked for us.
Florrie is doing very well. I have put some more pics up on my profile. She is eating everything she can find and fattening up by the day! She is curious about outdoors but prefers looking at it rather than making a dash for the door. Just as well, I dont think my nerves would manage just yet! Due a check up at the Vets Friday. Tyhe very expensive vets food is being ignored in favour of usual grub, stolen from Twinkle, so we have got kitten food for her at the moment. She is SO keen to eat everything though, I would not be surprised if Twinkle buggered off so he could find food elsewhere without a small thing diving in and stealing it from UNDER his chin!!!
She's looking well, dobby. Bright and alert.

aww Demo, thats sweet. I have to admit, I was stroking her today and realise its only a week since we had the call to say she was possibly in the building I cant believe she has pulled through, and so quickly. It was also the first time I stroked her and couldnt feel her bones sticking through all her fluffy lovliness
I havnt mentioned this before, but the day I went to collect her, it was so bittersweet for the women at the vets who had cared for her. I knew from talking on the phone they were so pleased to be able to say "yes she is ok to go" and then just ten minutes before I walked in to collect her (which they told me was the highlight of their week) A woman came rushing in with a young cat of similiar age and markings that had been knocked down. It was sadly brain dead and as I arrived, all smiles and happy, they took the family through to tell them the bad news I knew something had happened, as I overheard some of the conversation and one of the poor girls couldn't help crying when we talked about how easily Florrie could have died, had she not been noticed by one observant neighbour, or if the builders had gone up to check by themselves.
Our cats leave such a hole in our lives when they go, which many folk who dont have a pet bond find hard to understand. I feel soo grateful that we found florrie and that she has survived her ordeal apparently as scatty as she was before I am also very grateful to you gouys on here for listening and keeping interested
I am also especially grateful to people like Celia Hammond and catneuterer who have the courage to speak on behalf of our animals and their welfare and step in where others don't have the courage to do so. And for allowing bonkers folk like me to adopt beautiful kittys from them Although it would be great if responsible pet ownership meant one day, rescue centres would not be required.
Anyway, thats all got a bit long and worthy. I have a cat pulling on my arms as he wants to cuddle up at the foot of my bed when I go to sleep nighty night folks xx
So sorry! I had an early night last night and then went straight out to coach cycling - have only just got onto mumsnet 
Thanks for asking. Florrie went for her check up at the vets last night. The vet nurses came out from behind the counter to all take a look at her - well the commandeered the carrier,opened the door and took her out for a cuddle actually! Luckily we were the only ones there at the time! The vet luaghed out loud when she saw her and said "I can tell without weighing you that you are a lot better" . We did eventually weigh her and she is now 2.8kg - so 1.2kg more than when she was found The vets only comment was - very ggod, but Floorie if you keep stealing your brothers food, I will be putting you on the reducing diet next!!
We have let her go outside today - had out hearts in our mouths, but after a very good sniff around the garden, she brought herself back in after ten minutes She has been racing in and out, and sunning herself on next doors shed roof for most of the day, only coming inside to eat and sleep on the warm window ledge
Think it is safe to say she is doing ok - the good thing about her poster being everywhere is that both my neighbours spotted her in the garden today so she can't go anywhere without being noticed now
